This is exactly why I love your channel. So many tasks aren’t difficult once you know the “secrets.” If I lived near you, your shop would get my business, not that I couldn’t do some of the work, but you are set up for it and can knock it out so much faster. Unfortunately, shops like yours aren’t always available. Thanks!

That was informative! I have one of those endoscopes, picked it up about 6 years ago and it looks exactly like the one you have. I paid $18 and it has been well worth that many times over. Gun bores ( cracked barrel would've wasted $350 ) to going over to a friends house to figure out the stud configuration right where his shower/tub started. No way we could've figured it out without taking 18" of small tile and replacing drywall ( Saved him at least $150 if we could find the replacement tile that matched ). Plus many more uses.

Thank you so much for doing this video. I have stripped both my bolt out of my echo 620p and was told by a mechanic it would need to be taken apart and the motor disassembled. I had a loose bar stud on the Stihl 025 that I restored a few months ago. It only had a few threads left in the hole, so I cleaned the hole out good with break cleaner and my air compressor. I then cleaned off the new bar stud to remove any oil. I then mixed up a little JB Weld and coated the inside of the bolt hole with it. I then screwed the new bolt stud in the hole until some of the JB Weld oozed out. I would remove it after it set. I then let the saw sit in a warm place for 24 hours. I have had no problem with it since. I do not tighten this stud as tight as I do the rear stud but Itighten it enough to hold the bar in place. Gorillas are the reason these bar studs get damaged or loose in their holes. I never tighten bar nuts like some folks do. I tighten them tight but not so tight I can’t remove them.

This is exactly the reason why scrench handles aren’t very long and don’t give you that much leverage. The nuts don’t need to be super tight to do their job. Using an impact or large ratchet WILL shear them off. Just use a scrench and snug them up. It’s not a lug nut so don’t kill it!

A little white paint on the stud to index it will help you keep it lined up. Can also use a piece of fishing line or strong string, tied to stud threads when knocking through, can be used to pull new stud back through the hole.

If your NEW bar stud was a little lose like mine was, I tapped it back into the oil tank and extracted it and put a thin film of loctite on it and reinstalled it very carefully and then put a spacer in place ---tightened it up --- and let it sit while the loctite set up ! !! THEN i put everything back together !!

I have a Husqvarna 435 and the stud disappeared after I took the nut off. I thought it fell out but could not find it. Wouldn't you know it fell inside the oil tank. What I don't understand is why they made it this way. Now I need to put it back in place. I would suggest putting some Loctite on the stud to make sure it doesn't fall out and also putting a chisel on the stud and giving it several small hits to make it more secure before putting the Loctite on the bolt.
