This is exactly what I needed! Very well explainied and I appreciate it! P. S. I took a utility knife to the plastic covering up the screw and cut out a little notch to make it easier to reach it next time.

Super helpful. Thank you! I bought this Traverse brand new 2021. It has no screw and the filter was in sideways. Luckily the air flow direction was correct. The filter definitely needed to be changed. 30K miles. It was pretty dirty.

Just got a Traverse. I just changed my filter on my 2015 4runner, which got me thinking about the Traverse and what's involved. The 4runner takes me all of 30 seconds. But could be worse. I changed the filter once on my mom's 2001 Honda Accord. Literally had to take half the dash off.

They probably didn't have the brain cell left to make it easy to access the screw. That is something GM had overlooked and never thought of leaving a notch opening so it would be easier to access the screw.
