I have a 2017 GMC sierra 1500 SLT. I had original equipment battery that went ba. The battery was replaced in 2023. I have never had a battery removal that was this extensive. What I don’t understand et is a blank battery plate to mount a battery that much easier to access on the drivers side.

Bravo! That battery setup scared the hell out of me. This video told me everything I needed to know, down to what sockets I needed. I called my father-in-law for moral support and had the battery in the driveway when he arrived to take me to the shop. I saved money and earned some father-in-law street credit. Thanks again.

Thank you for the video! The cross eyed guy at the auto part store tried to tell me it was a hour job to replace the battery. I couldn't believe a battery swap would take that long and had to search it. I've been playing battery cranking power roulette for about a month now. I can take care of this during my lunch break.

Nice job installing this battery. The only things I would have done differently would be to clean under and around the battery tray location while the battery is out of the truck. Poor grounding has also been an issue with these trucks, so I would have taken care of any grounding connections in this general location while the battery was out as well. I'm a bit OCD to some degree when doing maintenance on my truck.

Thanks, Bryan - very helpful video. Might want to re-install the center bracket post at the bottom before re-attaching the distribution block - especially if you don’t have a ratchet extension. Also, they sell rubber gaskets and terminal grease kits for $4 that are supposed to avoid corrosion on the terminals.
