Sorry I never tried to disassemble a spindle. In this video I just replace a new rubber blocks. The lock of the spindle is a "one time lock" if you try to detach the locks it's difficult to replace a new lock.

Any idea where to order this 20mm x 1.8mm rubber belt online?

Wondering how this is holding up. I tried this using rubber bands, but the superglue wouldn’t hold so one the rubber bits fell off.

Don't use rubber band it is too weak very soft rubber. Instead use belt rubber.

About putting an adhesive make sure you clean the bronze part of the spindle before applying an adhesive and sand the part of the rubber to be stick in the spindle.

What kind of belt did you use?

I'm just using a reel to reel belt 1.8mm by 2mm it's thickness but it need a refinement.
