    Hi sir, can you please tell me how long you waited before taking the razor blade to the partially hardened material? Also, how long before it fully hardens / cures?

    It's different for different temperatures, humidity and how you mix the ratios. Just practice on some scrap and you'll find out quickly how long it will take you particular brand and mixing ratio to work. But I believe I sliced mine at about 5 minutes and it dried enough to sand in about 30 minutes.

    It depends on how much they scrub that area? It won't last more than a year. But by that time you'll have more chips to repair! It doesn't hurt to polish the whole top every year though...

    I wouldn't think the granite itself would be commercial food grade safe. It has a lot of pores in it. I'm just not sure.

    Thank you for the information very well demonstrated! Do you have any advice on how to advertise to apartment complexes with granite?

  • @mowerdog

    @mowerdog

    5 жыл бұрын

    Use Vistaprint.com and make up some nice color fliers and/or cards. Make sure the card specifies chip and crack repair. Mention that they save money by repairing. Mention volume discounts too. Chances are they have a lot of chips in different apartments all the same color. Then you can knock out several with not having to mix up the same color over and over again. Then clean up and meet the manager and maintenance person and personally speak with them while handing them your card.

    What makes a DIY Granite repair so technical? I think the great people that DIY are brave and talented. Lots of them performing engine repair, brake jobs, electrical, plumbing, electronic repairs etc.. These repairs are much more technical than a chip on a rock.
