Those Lasko fans are so cheaply made, bought one a month ago and it arrived with one blade tip broken off that we didn't realize. The first day I noticed it vibrated a lot, thought it was because of cheap made, next day after noticing it walking around the room again, I looked it over and saw the tip broken, so made a note not to run it on 3. Even on 2 it was bad enough to walk around the room and eventually caught on uneven part of floor and fell over breaking a blade off. I'm shocked they don't just fly apart as soon as you turn them on, lol.

@@mansfield1986 It did until I had it on a table which allowed the fan to vibrate off and broke it again. Fixed it a second time which didn't hold, tried glue and gave up.

I usually see the motor on those burn out before the blades ever deteriorates into the state that as soon as it starts spinning, part of the blade flies off.

@@mansfield1986 dad comment still relevant for all dads. Non dads won't understand the pain. Keep repairing. As they tighten the world screws even a box fan will be hard to toss away before trying to repair it because they'll cost so much money.

I could not see what you were using (one commentor said a “mini torch”) to fix your fan blade. I have a broken fan blade and I’m thinking of using glue. But my experience with glue has not been too good.

Yes a mini torch and remember that both sides have to be molten plastic to adhere together. I figured it out from welding.
