i weld bandsaw for a living in Indonesia (4" width, not the small ones) Would still recommend to weld it, because either way that crack is still going further even after you drill a hole on it, and of course you are still going to use it until it retires *though it depends on what type of wood you're cuttiing, the applied force to cut the wood, and how long you are going to use it for

I'd have brazed it, too, before continuing.

There is a reason that blade is that wide , and now it' half that width! For safety sake it needs to be welded.
