Favorite online auto parts store. Saves me a lot of time shopping online also because the nearest auto parts store is 30 minutes away. I just made a video on replacing a blower motor on my truck. They don’t lie when they say that the part will fit your vehicle. The right parts installed correctly that’s the 1a auto way!!
Glue removed; new window scratches added. 👍
Very easy way , thank you for your brief description about it.
I'm a professional window cleaner and while I don't have any experience in working on automotive glass, I would not recommend using a razor blade that way. Automotive glass is safety glass which is (at least in buildings) made with tempered glass. Tempered glass is VERY easy to scratch with a razor blade! If I were removing the adhesive, I would use a liberal amount of Goo Gone, or something similar to soften the adhesive. For areas that are being stubborn, I would use #0000 steel wool, which is designed to be used on glass surfaces. I would use a length of painter's tape to keep the Goo Gone from dripping down into the door. The heat gun seems to work great on the tint itself, my concern is just about the razor blade usage on the adhesive residue. Thanks for all your great videos; they've helped me out a lot over the years!

I use a razor blade and a lubricant to clean the windshield when detailing and never had a problem..obviously i always use a new one each car if its an old used blade i can see it being problematic..

Thank you for that. Sure, this might work, but it’s not the ideal way for many. I cringed watching this. For the average (left side of the bell-curve) person, razor sharp, acute-angled steel tools on a concave glass surface probably isn’t the best technique. Sharp steel edges can, and will, win against glass in the wrong hands. Not, everyone has an attention for detail. This tutorial is a letdown.

Actually I worked with my dad as a contractor Installing and taking care of windows and we use razors to clean regular and tempered glass. So do most window shops

Not true if you use a cheap razor yes it will scratch you must use a quality made blade. This is how every tinter cleans the glass before putting it on as well. I use a scraper blade that way I don't slip
Don’t use a blade on the rear window, you will destroy the demister element.

STEAM MACHINE: if you have a fabric steamer(not a steam iron), I saw a video where that worked better. The penetrating and safe and dissolving moisture and less heat and better results and less left over glue to scrape and much safer for rear windows with defrost wires! Take care
The whole purpose of the heat gun is to soften the adhesive so the film comes off with the adhesive still attached to the film. If done right, there should be almost no adhesive on the window. This was a complete disaster. Heat gun was probably not used at it’s highest setting.
I’d say yes to everything except the way you use the razor to scrape the glue 😅
Have to try that
Thanks for another great video. Question though: how do you clean off the adhesive from the lower part of the window where some tint may be stuck on before the window frame and therefore not really possible to clean it removing the window? I would like to remove my front door tint to get darker tint installed but I'm afraid that the lower window will be not thoroughly cleaned and therefore the new tint won't properly adhere at the bottom end.

Adhesive remover. Isopropyl alcohol. Mineral spirits.
Got to the point. Love it
What is that cleaning solvent use to remove adhesive residue
What about windshield tint? I’m worried that if use a razor blade I’ll damage the black coating on the glass around the edges
i dont know anything about tinting or removing tint i got a 2011 camaro rs for my 16th birthday been to 3 places failed inspection at all because the tint is too dark!
What temperature of the air from heat gun to use?
If the goal of the heat gun is to loosen glue between the tint and glass, maybe it would be best to heat the glass from the other side so the tint stays cooler and stronger(easier to pull without tearing)?
Nice video

+Zeus Sheckles Thank you!
I was wondering about amount of heat to use. It should soften around 180° but crystalizes at 250° and melts at 260 so have to keep moving and not use too much heat.
Use a bottle of dry gas to remove the glue after removal of the tint. A clean new shop towel, or cotton wash cloth works well. Soak the dry gas liberally onto the cloth, but without it dripping, the dry gas balls up the glue, and removes it quickly without fuss. Obviously, tape off the door panel first.
I'm not using a razor blade to remove any excess adhesive that's what alcohol is for
Won’t alcohol remove the left over glue?
sucks that I only have two of the tools & not the heat gun cause I got a '95 Camry (runs & drives) & the rear window has tint on it that is seriously blurry & can't see anything clearly when looking through it but its on the inside of the car, not the outside is it still possible to remove it?
@KillermanV3

All tint is on the inside so it's possible to remove any tint. Just heat it up, peel it off, and clean the glass if adhesive is left behind. Tint is a film with adhesive that sticks to a window so you can remove any tint. In fact, yours should be removed if it's no longer serving its purpose.

Use a hair dryer 👀
Is it that hatf to use glue temover lol after thay with goo gone is orettu strong stuff
The easiest way to remove window tint is with an electric space heater. Put it inside the car and crank the heat all the way up for an hour or two depending on the outside temperature. The tint peels right off once you get it started.
Rear glass with defroster?
whats the temp setting on the gun?
Why are you heating the finished window/pulled tint? Your heat gun is on the wrong side. You're supposed to heat it BEFORE it comes off.
I started this but the residue is stuck in my window track. How do I fix that?
@MegaBrAnDoN04
Жыл бұрын
You're gonna have to most likely disassemble the door and clean the tracks and any residue on the glass separately
Yeah I wish it came of this easy on my truck one window was easy the next no way piece by piece till it came of and my fingers were hurting
How hot for the gun?
Will a hair dryer work as well or do they not get hot enough?
How do you remove PIECES of tint that broke off while trying to remove the factory tint?
If it has a window frame just roll the window down a bit.
Not even gonna cover the interior door panel from the tidal wave of liquid chemicals and glue? Speakers and electronics like window and lock controls really enjoy both of those…
Same thing for back window also I'm assuming?
@sfitzy1996

More care needs to be taken with the rear window since the heat lines run through it.
Is easier if you spray it with water and soap put a big plastic bag on it and let it stay for 45 minutes then start peeling off the tint or scraping with a blade!!! (It must be warm or hot temperature)
Rip that shit outta there lol that's what I'm about to do and go get it redone

Hammer and chisel with a full bic lighter works for me.
I want to get my shitty old horrible tint off my car real quick so then I can just take it to my tint guy and have him do maybe 5% around and 25% on the windshield this light tint is killing me
Is that factory tint? Or aftermarket?
@MrJohnnyDistortion

Factory tint is in the glass itself.
Goo gone makes life easier.
Next time use a piece of plumbing putty or a clay bar with the glass cleaner instead of a razor with glass cleaner
It is ez to remove the tint just used the heat gun n my my nail😂just remove this morning
Missed a bit
Nothing takes that dm glue off! gas, goo gone, carb cleaner, alcohol, oven cleaner, nothing! You can't use a blade because the defroster is all over the dm thing.
I would have definitely covered that door with something
Bro you just drying the glue
This was a terrible Job!

You do not need any of these, just a razor a Titan tool to hold it and a wet towel to dam the window you are scrapping. 5 minutes its all it took. No heat gun no trash bag no waiting no nothing. Water Razor blade Titan tool to hold the razor blade 3-5 minutes a window

This should be titled how not to remove
The sound of that razor against the glass made me cringe, like nails on a chalkboard. I'd think holding the razorblade at a sharper angle would be easier right? Dude's holding it near 90 degree at some points. Edit: it's more 45-50 degree to the glass he's scraping. But still, that's too high of an angle in my opinion especially if I'm paying for it.
No razor, and lots of goo gone
Id be pissed if that was my car…
Id be pushed if that was my car…
Rip window lol
He Doesn’t know what he is Doing, Plastic bag will be a lot easier
So you used all the special tools, on the easiest possible window, and had someone doing it that evidently has never done before. I’m sorry but this tutorial was not put together very well at all.
This is not how you want to do this. Very labor intensive
