I suspect most of the thumbs down are for the whole "Yo, what is up? It's your boy - the one and only Real Gucci Gavin..." A lot of young people go through phases where they are still trying to find their identity. Maybe that's the case for this guy, but the older he gets, the less people are going to be considerate of his feelings. The closer he gets to being an adult, the fewer breaks he'll be cut. I thought this was one of those parody channels like TurBRO, or Muscle Vs Tuner. Then I realized he's totally trying to be serious. And as for the tape method he's attempting in this video, a little understanding of fundamental physics would have helped him out. He's relying on the bond-strength of the adhesive to pull the center cap out. That's not they way it's done. You apply both ends of one continuous piece of tape to the center cap with the middle folded to itself, like a flap. Then, when you pull on the flap, the resistance force that ultimately allows you to pull the cap out, is the shear-strength, which is much stronger than the adhesive alone. You're essentially trying to peel the tape from the center cap along the plane of the face, rather than away from the face. So, there's that. When combined with "the one and only Real Gucci Gavin" routine, you get a 2:1 thumbs down to thumbs up ratio. This video is 1.5yrs old, as I'm typing this comment. Perhaps this creator has discovered the actual Gavin, by now. I don't really want to go to his channel to find out. I'll just stay blissfully ignorant and hope he's grown since this video. :)

People can be ridiculous at times. Yes, it took him a few seconds to get the cap off but with patience he did it. Everyone wants instantaneous results hence the thumbs down. Craziness!

Worked on my 2018 Colorado, but I used Velcro brand industrial strength fastener, and a pair of pliers. Had all 4 center caps off in 5 minutes. Looks like your method would work pretty well too

Try pullin off a 5 star Audi centercap with box tape... Not happening. The centercap covers all the lugs. German idea...

Real Gucci Gavin OK I’m only asking because I bought those exact same auto bot center caps for my 2017 Camaro and I’m noticing that the emblem is slightly starting to peel off and that’s starting to worry me

I use a hammer and chisel, works great

Just screw any old wood screw into the center of the cap and then pull on the screw, they will just pop straight out takes a few seconds to take out and replace each one
