Zero justification for Tesla not installing digital rear view mirrors! Plenty of other manufacturers have them, at lower price points. Such a let down!

@@henrywilliams5458 that’s a backup camera mounted low. It’s a wide angle and not the same view as as the cams designed for rear view mirrors. Also, gets dirty quicker. And to get it displayed on the screen, you need to touch the icon, rather than just look up at the mirror. And, when you do get it to display it takes up the entire screen. Is that what you want to see all the time when you’re driving?

I kinda like the digital view on the main screen… will just have to retrain my head movement

The mirror is not entirely useless, as I hang my state park pass from it. I do wish the rear camera changed to a normal lens at 25+ mph, as the fixed wide angle lens is only useful for parking --- it's not a replacement for the rearview mirror. I end up using the driver side side mirror to see what's behind me, which works pretty well as the Cybertruck side mirrors are very large.

Its useful for looking to see what your kids are doing before you threaten to turn the car around and go back home.

I don't understand why they couldn't just add a digital rearview mirror. It just makes more sense. Why take up space in the touch screen... just looks so out of place.

When you spend $100k on a car, and have to remove the useless parts yourself....
