I must give credit where credit is due. This video resolved a four-hour perplexing struggle in two minutes. Where screw removal techniques were tried and failed, this succeeded. A titanium bit broke off in my bolt as I was setting up to apply an extractor. This was a saver! I used a breaker-bar instead of my ratchet. However, the student is never greater than his instructor. Thank you for your help!

You absolute legend... I just extracted a rounded 5mm hex head from my nissin break calliper using a T40 torx key bit... tapped it home with the Hammer, and hey presto... she’s out... save my a small fortune on a new rear break calliper... You the man..... From Gary Yorkshire England...... 👍🏍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧👍

FACTS!🤣
I didn't even need to drill out my stripped Hex Bolt. I simply used a slightly larger torx head driver and it worked well after adding some penetrant and heating it with a blowtorch for a shirt period. This worked great and saved me a lot of trouble. Thanks for the tip.
I been trying to get this damn bolt off for days bought different type of extractors to no avail. Watched this video grab the tool and 3 minutes later I was dancing in my garage! Thank you ever so much brother!
This video was a lifesaver today! Worked like a charm! Took me a while to get my torx head out of the stripped bolt when I was done, but that’s a testament to how well this worked!
Mate you just saved me a massive expense. I tried extraction drill bits etc, no luck. Came across this video and tried it. I couldn't believe it, but it worked. Thank you so much. The mechanic had quoted me £50.
Guys like you make me proud to be an American. Great color commentary. Needed this advice for my mountain bike stripped allen derauillure hanger. Great job bud!
Wow! I never comment, but I just wanted to thank you! I'm restoring an old dirt bike, and this saved me big time!
I know this post is 4+ yrs old but I needed it today YOU ROCK!!! It worked great on a countersunk Allen on a power running board on a Ford Expedition took like 8 minutes!!!!!!!
DUDE, YOU ROCK!!! Thank you! 01 ZX6R, 1230 miles bought it from a Hot Chic k. Hex heads were factory tight. On the LAST ONE, STRIPPED IT. Found your vid and it is a life saver. ROCK on.
I had 1/2 hex bolts that were MEGA stripped I had to figure out how to remove from the cubicles in my office. I am so HAPPY say we got those suckers out in less than 8 minutes using a slightly modified version of your method!!!! AWESOME reference and demo FOR SURE... 2 thumbs up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for posting this! I was having a ton of trouble working on my bike and this worked perfectly! The one thing I needed to add was going back in and drilling more material out a couple times after hammering it in there until the bit was lodged properly. Might help others to know that. Again great video and thank you!
Great article mate very good description, love the way you outlined all the tools and showed the process step by step Thanks
Worked like a charm! Had a Allen head bolt stripped on the bottom of my van when they mounted the cabinets. This worked in about 2 minutes. Keep up the good work man
Dude you freaking saved me! Had to remove the clutch cover to paint it and when I installed it back, clutch wasn’t engaging so I knew I had misaligned the rod...stripped a screw in the process of removing it again, and your technique worked in the first try!
Worked like a charm for me after the so-called bolt extractor kits failed miserably. Props for posting this up, sir!

Great idea. 👍
I can’t thank you enough for this tip. I was putting saddle bag on my wife’s bike, and the previous owner striped the torque bolt, and this worked perfectly!! Again, thank you very much!!
DUDE YOUR THE BOMB DIGITY YO! I used your method on my Bauer wood planner. The rounded shaped Allen bolts were stripped. Your method got two stripped bolts out in seconds... THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! MY PROJECT CONTINUES. Didn't even mess up! 🤗
Man you're a life saver, I just trying 3 hours to remove the Allen bolts to change my brake pads, I almost give up, and after I saw your video, I just got back to the garage and change them in 10 min! Thank you very much for that!
Your idea worked right away for me. I was screwing around for an hour with that bolt, till your idea. Thanks ! !
This was key to removing a screw that was stripped from the last time a brake job was done, and like you said, should not have been reused but it stripped easily. Your advice helped me to complete the job myself and I appreciate the good and helpful video.
Thank you so much! I stripped a tiny screw on a lathe tool holder at work so I found your video and didn't have to ask for help lol this method worked easily!
Brilliant!!!!!... Spent all day trying to get a rounded allen bolt out with no luck. Found this video and it came out first time. Thanks for posting as I think I would have still been trying.
You saved me today, thanks so much! M8 hex head driveshaft bolt stripped, takes a 6mm hex key. I used a 9/32 drill bit and T45 torx with your method and it worked perfectly. I tested multiple different drill bits on a spare bolt before I tried the stripped one. 19/64 was too big, and 17/64 was too small. The 9/32 (18/64) was the right size for the M8 bolt, with 6mm hex key and the T45 torx. Hope that helps someone save some money on bits :)
Amazing. Worked like a charm. I needed to use a larger bit than I had my Allen tool was and then it worked awesomely.
Thanks Bud!! Had 3 out of 5 stripped bolts on my Harley derby cover. Didn't even have to drill. Tapped in the star bit, all 3 came right out. Put star replacement screws in to hold the cover, was still able to use the same star bit because it was not damaged. Very cool and quick trick!!
Dude,..thank you!! You saved me time and money,..worked on the first try on 2 different stripped Allen bolts,..thanks man
This worked awesome! I had three bolts that were stripped out when replacing blades on a 6" Porter Cable bench top jointer. This exact method worked perfectly. I thought I was screwed until I found this video, thank you for this video!!
ive just used this method on 3 bolts on my honda 919,lifesaver! thanks from the uk.
DUDE.... I never comment on videos but this saved me big time. Thank you for putting this video out, much appreciated!

Heyo, Thank you so much for posting this video! I had a ceased Allen bolt fastener for the quillstem of my bicycle and your video totally made it possible for me to successfully remove it. 😊👍👌
Thanks for posting. I followed your steps and I also hit the bolt with some penetrating oil for good measure. Saved myself a lot of aggravation!
Thanks i thought I was out of luck then I went on KZread and seen your video i tried it and I worked first try. Thanks again
Had almost given up hope of removing a rounded rearset bolt on my gsxr 1000 k6 and was resigned to calling in a professional when I came across your video. It worked first time. Your a lifesaver. Thanks very much 👍👍
Dude, I seriously had my doubt s but this totally worked! Thanks for another trick for tool box! Ride safe, man.
Did the same thing with a valve cover bolt on my Bandit 1200, didn't even have to drill just found a torx bit that fit snug, gave it a few taps with a hammer and it came right out with a good tug of the ratchet.
Thanks for the tip. Really got me out of a sticky situation today. Didn’t need to drill in the end. Just hammered a slightly larger T piece into the hole and voila ! Cheers man.
Thanx for this video. Your process actually resolved my stripped hex head issue. With a proper drill bit, I was able to create the necessary opening for a torx head bit. It worked! Was able to remove 2 over torque disc bolts. Problem solved!!!!
I had stripped a bolt at the bottom of my fork, and I was beside myself. Your tip worked great and saved me from the deep end. Thank U Mr Dude.
I was pretty skeptical that this would actually work but I used this method on some of my exhaust bolts on my R1 and It worked like a charm, i heated the bolt up with a blow torch to help it out as well. Saved me from buying a an extractor kit.
Thanks. This really helped me finally get out 2 stripped bolts that I had been struggling to shift. Amazing how such a tiny thing can be such a pain. Cheers.
Thanks man! I just used this method to remove a stripped hex bolt on the rear sprocket of my Honda crf250l. Your vid was a life saver!
Thanks so much for posting! I watched ALL the videos on youtube on how to remove hex bolts and yours actually worked first time and didn't require me to spend $150 on special tooling!

Worked on my bicycle seat post clamp on a smaller scale. After watching this, tried hammering in a slightly larger Allen wrench, as I didn't have the right size star bit, and it worked like a charm.
Thanks, good video. This technique worked to get a stripped allen drain plug out.
Thank you so much for making this video brother! You are a godsend my friend! Your commentary was what made the video even better LOL sure do appreciate you my man God you and your family stay safe out there
Thanks for this vid mate! It worked out fine and saved my Airsoft replica !
Worked 1st time for me on head bolts. Thanks man
Great video, simple but elegant solution
About to try this on my buddy's bike, thanks so much!
Got my allen stripped and stuck inside the fork tube, found this video. 2 minutes with star key and hammer, bump, fixed! Thanks:)
Straight forward. Done and done. Good job. Thanks for sharing.
3/7/2020 - this video saved my ass after a week of trying all kinds of tricks to extract a stripped bolt.
thank you so much mate, just managed to get it out using this method and replaced all the crappy cap screws with new ones.
Thanks for this Allen Key video. Needed a solution and found this video. Worked great. Thank you very much.
Perfect i had problem on MTB but with your solution i made it(inbus 5KO and then i did it with torx), it really works, thanks! :)
This works! In my personal experience I didn't have to drill, but I had really stripped the inside of the bolt. The inside of the bolt was large enough to hammer in the torx bit.
Badass, I had forgot all about this trick. Thanks!
Worked perfectly for me. Thank you.
Thank you! I watched a bunch of other videos, but this one worked no problem!! :)

Thanks bud! Hadn't thought of that, and it worked a charm, even with a small bolt.
I have the same problem but mine is on my Kubota tractor. You got it correct, and there is no other way. At least that I am aware of !!! You nailed it !!!
Thank you. This worked perfectly for me.
Most Useful Technique.. I am going to apply on my Motorcycle. Thank you So for your effort to make the video.❤️
Awesome technique, worked a treat!
fantastic!! I did everything you did to take out 18 rounded allen stainless button bolts from the brake discs on my ducati monster. I also ground a sharp flat on the tip of the star-bit, so it would bite into to allen bolt hole. cant thank you enough.

2:35... just made this video totally entertaining! I was not expecting it whatsoever, but it made me chuckle.
Thanks for the tip.. I did it without drilling. Worked first time 😁😁
Nice tips! Got tons of stripped out allen heads on my bike.
Dude you saved me so much time thank you big thumbs up 👍 you rock
Great video!! I have just tried two bolt extra kits and neither would work because the Allen head was to shallow, tried to drill the centre to use the easy out on the shaft of the bolt but it’s hardened steel!! (On an exhaust header) tried this method and to my surprise it worked 👍 thanks a lot man!!
Used it to remove a stainless steel bolt from an alloy threaded boss on the steering wheel of my boat.Did not have bolt extractor onboard. Worked a treat.
Holy crap thanks for this. Worked perfectly.
Thanks for the tip! Will try it out tomorrow!
Thanks buddy, that did the job for me!
Great video brother I'm having this exact problem right now I got every other bolt off of this fairing except for one that's stuck
Thank You, I'm able to finish a job on time because of you and put 350 bucks in my pocket I otherwise would have lost. Again, Thank You!!!!

awesome bro..thanks for sharing....i'm sure you've helped thousands
Thank you so much man, I am suffering the same problem.
Very easy thanks man.. it also works for bicycle bolts
Quit beating the kid up. He's a creative problem solver, which are almost extinct these days. I don't know why I didn't try this before I watched his video. Without the drill, I had two allen bolts extracted from my Harley in less than 3 minutes.
Ive used this method with the star bits before. Works great
You made my day trying to open a scroll saw clamp. Thanks pal.
It worked great, thank you!
