Thank you so very much. My mother bought me a Burberry raincoat in the 1980s and it's been hanging in a closet for many years. I had it dry cleaned and that achieved nothing as far as the stains were concerned. So I thought I had nothing to lose to try out your method. I had to use Oxyclean color booster instead of the Laundress Bleach as it's been discontinued. I did purchase the stain remover and followed your instructions. I can hardly believe my eyes - the stains have gone and I have a gorgeous clean Burberry. My mum has since passed away so this coat is even more special to me. A thousand thanks!!

Hi, mine is 49% 51% too. Does yours have plain heavy satin/taffeta lining to the sleeves please?

I hand wash my coat using Dr. Bronner’s soap and cold water. I dip and rinse gently. I place the coat on a blanket and roll it to remove the excess water, and hang it dry. I don’t have to iron my coat. It just ‘settles’ nicely when dry.

Thank you so much for this tip. I washed mine, also made of cotton+ polyester. Put it in the washing machine inside out buttoned up to protect buttons and cuffs & without the belt(I hand washed it separately) on silk/delicate setting, cold water & 600 spin. I used a Japanese detergent called Kao Emal, specific for high-end clothing and only $8 AUD😊 Well...my black trench coat 12+ years old is looking like new😮. Before I washed it I thought the colour had faded or something but as it turned out, it was just dirty. This trick worked wonders...the colour is vibrant again! 😍

Hi it was totally fine after the wash. If you use a mesh bag and follow the same cycle and settings I mentioned in my video, it should be fine:) I hope it helps!

Yes, my trench was fully clean in its entirety after putting in the mesh bag and in the washing machine. No damage to the lining at all. I chose low spin cycle. The ability to repel water remain the same cause I still wear it during the rainy days and I didn't notice any difference. Hope this help!

yea, i put them in the meshed bag in the washer and I didn't remove them. They came out fine. Hope that helps.

Good question as is it 100% cotton or a poly cotton mix, you cannot beat the 1980s Burberrys raincoat for quality as the new stuff is fashion tat not classic at all and most of the new raincoat are way to short.
