All the cleaning of rigs, compositing, editing, colour correction can be done in Resolve, it's free so no need to pay for Adobe products. And if you want to pay for Resolve, it's a 1 time licence at a decent price that gives you access to updates forever.

@@edupuertasfruns Like any software you just need time and motivation to learn, I have been using Resolve and Fusion for years, before using it I was coming from Final Cut Pro and Motion. I learned the hard way because there was not much in term of tutorials back then, but there is more and more resources about using Resolve. It took me a few months to get around using it. Casey Faris, JayAreTV, Patrick Stirling,Ripple Training are some of the best tutorial makers for learning basic stuff, Casey Faris and Ripple Training have paid courses that offer very good quality.

It's funny because when I started to consider going into stop motion I was like "ok what is the best process for removing the rigs ?" and I used to analyze the making-of videos from Kenta/Animist showing some editing parts, accelerated, but as he's not speaking in them and all his softwares are in japanese I took some time to translate all the info displayed. That said, I can confirm that you just posted the only one video explaining the After Effects rig removal process from A to Z on KZread, with pro tips about the rigs, set & shooting, so, thank you so much for this, the newcomers & beginners will be helped, for sure ! well, it is completely diferent, and on after you can control the interaction between frames, a lot of times you make a stroke with the stamp and in the next frame it does not match the one you just made. In photoshop you cannot control it playing nicely.

I think some people use green tape to cover the end of their rig where it meets the puppet. Then they key out the green as a starting point for rig removal in post production.

Yes you are right, it is handy if you also have the background green. I don't like the green spill of it to the puppet

@@edupuertasfruns yes that's would probably be a big draw back of that method if the green tape or paper reflects its colour on other surfaces.

Me encanta!

Have you ever tried using z-depth to eliminate rigging? In 3D animation, of course, you get this layer for free. With stop-motion, you'd have to use a stereo camera or perhaps LIDAR.

Really cool video and previous ones…. I took your advice on lenses … also I’d like to mention stop motion pro software … I’m not sponsored by them… but they have a great inbuilt tool to remove rigs … really easy to use… and if you can’t afford Adobe monthly fee and want it all in one package ….. it does what dragonframe does … good for pc user ..
I think your videos are excellent. What size puppets do you find the more versatile? Big enough for barbie closed or smaller so there is less studio area required?
This is really useful information!!! Stop motion is an asinine amount of work, so kudos to this! lastly, what is the song you where using in the beginning of the video called? around 1: 35

Congratulations for the video, I would like to know how you cover the holes you make to fix the puppets' feet so they don't appear in the following scenes.
Great, I just would like to know why you suggest Adobe after effects instead of the fusion page in DaVinci Resolve?
Ты крут👍👍👍👍
Hello. What tool are you using to erase the rig so that you see the blank plate without the characters, did you have to erase the background on the footage with the characters to get the alpha channel

1) your channel is AMAZING! 2) I have a question about rig removal. The tecnique you use is perfectly clear, but how can i do it if I'm planning to move the camera? Should I find a way to make the exact same movement without the puppet and with the puppet on scene? Or is there a more clever way to do it?
@edupuertasfruns
9 ай бұрын
You have some options, remove and place again the puppet each frame, get a motion control system to move the camera automated so you can repeat the move after without the puppet, or you regenerate the picture in postproduction using nearby pixels

This video was not good, was excelent. I made and uploaded a stop motion animation in youtube, and this was my process: 1. Make the animation with the puppet and rig 2. Eliminate the rig and other "continuity errors" in Photoshop. I must add that I commited too many errors, mainly by flickers and shadows, so I edited every single photo, that took like 2 months 3. Put the photos in Premiere and accommodate them, cut parts, etc 4. Add some little effects, color corrections and Audio effects 5. Export Now I know how to attenuate or even avoid some errors thanks to you
