    I stumbled onto something today you may also want to try. Mine were ready to come off and were lifting in the back. Add a little lotion or oil to the cuticle area where it’s lifting. Use a floss pick and gently wiggle the floss forward between the polish and the nail while supporting it with a finger from the front of the nail. It comes right off!

    Yes oil, lotion or even warm shower water can all work if the strips are worn enough and the adhesive is weakened. It’s not my go to when talking about removal methods since people might try that on nails that are too fresh and cause damage by applying excessive force. A remover is better in those scenarios.

    Thank you so much for your straightforward, no-nonsense, yet brilliant nail sticker videos - they have been really helpful to me. I’ve enjoyed salon gel nails and dip powder nails for years but have sensitive skin and thin natural nails, which are getting thinner and drier as I approach age 50. The acetone I was using has really started to wreck my nail plates and cuticles. I want to look and feel a little bit fancy and pampered without the risks of acetone and I believe your advice will go a long way for me. Thanks again!

    Hi Lucy! Thanks for your great tutorials. I have a question regarding removal. I applied Dashing Diva Glaze a few weeks ago and they lasted a good 2 weeks and could have gone longer. I first tried using the Dashing Diva Magic Off (which I heard worked really well) and using an orange stick broke the seal and tried to remove them. The adhesive was on there so good that it was a bit difficult. So I took my time and didn't think I was forcing them off. But I still got some peeling of the nail bed on some nails. I even tried removal with a cuticle oil on some nails when I noticed the peeling, but still got the same results. After my nails have time to get strong again, I will apply another set and when it's time for removal I will attempt it using a flosser because that looks more gentle than an orange stick. Do you have any recommendations for a base coat that might help to protect from damage? Thanks!

  • @kbeautyhobbit

    @kbeautyhobbit

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi Carrie, I don’t use a base coat under my stickers bc it’s an added step and I’m a little lazy :) but there’s a good group on Facebook called Dashing Divas and I bet someone there would have a recommendation. I also think dashing diva makes a base coat but I haven’t tried it.

    First of all, thank you so much for all of the helpful nail tutorials! I've been referring to your videos semi-religiously ever since I started using various semi-cured strips. One question...I know that you use a gel topcoat over your stickers. I noticed that the bottle said "soak off." Do you have to soak or file off the gel before using any of the removal methods described in this video?

  • @kbeautyhobbit

    @kbeautyhobbit

    3 ай бұрын

    No there’s no soaking. I think soak off would apply if your whole manicure were brush on gel, from base to color to top coat. But since I do stickers and then top coat, I remove the way my removal video shows. The top coat makes no difference. Good question!

  • @kbeautyhobbit

    The flosser hack worked amazing for the Dashing Diva Glaze! I had previously damaged my nails from probably being too rough with a wooden cuticle pusher. I didn't have any damage with the flosser, and I have dry brittle nails. The thumbs were the most difficult. I also tried out some baby oil this time since I have a whole bottle I need to use it.

Most of the gel strip videos are being applied to shorter natural nails however I would like to apply length to my nail first and then the strips for strength instead of acrylic. And also do you recommend a full nail tip which I would not prefer because it would make everything too thick looking or a half tip… Would very much appreciate your opinion and expertise

    While wearing the stickers? Or to remove them? Short answer is yes but make sure your application is on point, don’t apply oil right before stickers, and wait until the next day to do oil after applying.
