I'm opening my own business to Bro, there will always be up and downs, Keep your head up and revise and evaluate components of your business that you may improve. I'm always doing that. Sales, get out there, papers, make a web site, its cheap. Always give your business a "GODS EYE VIEW" you'll make it I Promise. just make sure you never stop the fight getting your business where you want it to be. When you stop, everything stops, no ones going to do it for you what I've learned. Fellow businessman, good luck my Friend...

Here are some "poor man's lab" ideas for you-- 1. use flexible LED desk lamps 2. buy the cheapest pair of polarized glasses you can, and tape them over the objective lens of the microscope you're using. Polarized light can obtain the same glare-reducing effect as oblique lighting. (If you're using a stereoscope where the light from the surface is going from the workpiece into your eyes, not from the workpiece into a camera, then into a screen, you could try wearing polarized glasses when you look through the scope). 3. If you need diffuse lighting, use tape and printer paper to make reflectors. One example would be to make a kind of wall around the microscope stage, then use your external lighting on the outside of the paper. This will give you diffuse lighting. None of these options are going to give you the best results like you'd get with tools designed for the task like what Northridge is selling here. But if business is hard, every dollar counts! I'd discourage you from taking this kind of bootleg approach to cost reduction when it comes to your consumables (flux & solder) and measurement tools (e.g. multimeter). GL
After one year of using this kind of microscope and camera I discovered that this kind of work is an art by basicly playing with light to ajust the proper image quality. I am also using both ring and gooseneck light. Also I figured out that better results are when using them both with high quality polarizing filter. Image is then super bright and without reflections.

I just got into the repair business to make up some income for the new tax laws. I have been doing my soldering with magnifying glass and I cannot wait till the day when I can afford a microscope. That is a luxury that I do not have and I do not have the budget for one yet either. I love your videos and can not thank you enough. You do more good then you will ever know and you inspire me every day. Thank you

Of all the things I've learned here, this isn't one! I don't have a great microscope or fancy ring light but I have always had great lighting. Also noticed that most techs on KZread know squat when it comes to this basic principle. 🙂 Great job with the products.
There were some videos in the past where I thought "whoaa, how he did this magic now", thanks for the explanation man

I was actually betting on it being a polarized filter, we use polarized sunglasses for fishing to see under the water past the glare/reflections and I've even seen a camera that had one such that it could see inside a window during the day that without it you just see sky/reflections. Well made unit though, glad it works so well for you!

great theory! what about use light difusor in the ring light? may it works?
does the new lamp have hanging hole slots on back of unit. I was hoping u flip it over incidentally so i would not have to ask. I would mount on wall above desk. need the desk room..
Hey Alex, what is your table height from floor, you seem to be very comfortably seated while doing repairs.
Would not light polarization filter block most of the reflections caused by ring light?
Does anyone know, if you could stop by the store to buy this? Or do you only could purchase online? I stay closed, by i wouldn't mind picking up the device my self.

What causes people to break traces/pads? I have not worked on chips before, but I am about to get the tools (hot air gun, teflon ptfe tape as someone recommended) to replace a ps3 nec tokin capacitor
@sakisgri2165
Жыл бұрын
By pulling on the component before solder melts. But nec tokin are different story its almost impossible to melt the solder to get them off as 1 piece, it can be done but you need very good tools. The easy way is you rip them off piece by piece. Just look up replacing nec token on PS3 watch a few vids before you do it and choose the method you are comfortable with. NSC Modz has good tutorials on ps3, but watch other channels/methods too.
That "secret" could have been seen already from all of the videos.

Hi guys.I have a question.How can I test if DVI port from monitor is working?With multimeter.I bought already 2 cables and I think that the monitor port is bad not the one from video card
@Dandan-tg6tj
Жыл бұрын
You don't even need a multimeter for that. You use a second monitor. If you have an image on a known to function monitor then your problem is indeed either on the DVI port of the monitor or in your monitor's board. If you don't have an image on the second monitor just like on your own monitor, then the fault might be in the port of the video card. Remember this: whatever you may think is bad, may be totally wrong and it might set you on a wrong path. Things are not as simple as you think www.networktechinc.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/DVI-connectors-type.jpg In reality, the ports all look the same or almost the same but they are very different.
@Mueller3D

Keep in mind that a DVI port has two ports combined into one: It has analog pins and digital pins. Your source, cable, and monitor, all need to match regarding whether it's using analog or digital.

A ring light is great if the microscope is like an inch or two away from the workpiece. But with Barlow lenses, the idea is to move the microscope lens away from the workpiece, and it makes the ring light useless for shiny objects.
You did it! Lol!
You're very funny!
heck if not i take apart and pre drill mounts through footing.
All that myth and magic talk - "change the angle of your light source" would have been enough :D
Did you attend Universite?
And i thought you were going to fit a diffuser on the ring light, im wrong :-(
seems like the answer should be a ring light which angles at 45d rather than using multiple lights? perhaps someone should make one
Brighter light
I wouldn't recommend throwing it off a ten story building as it will void warranty.
Hello sir Love from India Sir can you make microscope for repairing using some glass lens and mobile camera??
@Dandan-tg6tj
Жыл бұрын
I've done it myself. I thought I did myself a huge favor for managing to build a microscope very cheap. In time, your eyes will suffer from using a DIY microscope using mobile camera based microscope. The image will not be good enough because the lens of a mobile camera is not designed for the type of image you need. Long story short, I did buy myself a real microscope and even if it did cost me more than I wanted to pay for it, it literally improved my life big time. Side effects of using a crappy microscope are far more expensive than buying a real microscope. Trust my advice, make an effort and buy a real microscope even if it is expensive. I'm just like you, from a country where the level of life is not high. Hope this saves you from damaging your eyes.
