Last method did the trick. The first two just SUBSTITUTE the default app, not ERASE it. Thanks!

It's not working for me. With the regedit method, I can delete the folder, restart everything, but the default is still there like nothing happened. I can see that the folder is deleted in regedit, but when I double click on a file of that extension, it still counts it as the default I chose before. I want it UNSET and this isn't working. Edit: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pIdsrLSImbu7n8Y.html
There is nothing for images in the list - like PNG or JPG and JPEG - I need to get them associated with the software I want to interact with them.
how do i make it default??

You showed how to change it, but NOT how to remove!!!!

He explains at the very end of the video. You must use regedit to delete file association.
