Just did mine today with a Dorman camera from Rock Auto. I also had 4 or 5 composite molding wedges to wedge between the appliqué (stainless piece) and the lift gate. Then either reach in with a pair of pliers to squeeze the tabs together or push one side with a screwdriver, then the other. Either way you need the wedge to keep pressure on it so that when the clip releases, it will pull through the hole. Takes about 45 minutes to get the panel off, and about 30 seconds to put it back on. The worst clips are in the lower corners. Be patient and you’ll get it!

I just replaced mine. I used a long nose hose removal/installation set of pliers to compress the clips. Harbor Freight sells a set of three and the smallest size was perfect for compressing the white clips and applying some upward pressure. For the lower corners, I removed the rubber bumpers, put a flashlight inside the gate, and then could see to release the clips with a screwdriver.

The socket is an 11mm, not 12mm.

is the wiring harness for the camera prone to water intrusion and corrosion, like on the Explorers? I have intermittent camera issues with my 2015 Flex that acts like a wiring problem

Those white clips don’t remove.
