i had recorded an xbox clip with a youtube video playing in the background on my PC, and out of respect for the creator of the content I wanted to remove/edit the audio before I uploaded anywhere. as someone already somewhat familiar with VLC, this made my day, thank you so much! this was short and to the point.

How can I save the audio? I have a video with a foreign language and the same video is a really low resolution with english audio. Can I save the english audio and use it as an audio track with the nice video?

Hi, I used the same settings. After hitting the wrench, there is also a video tab, I kept the codec the same as selected first, h. 264 mp4 + mp3 (mp4) and in audio tab I unselected the audio. The video takes it time to convert the entire 1.5 hours movie but when I play the converted video, the video length shows 45 mins :( Any idea why this happens? All other steps are the same as yours.

Yes it is! It's such an awesome place to visit.

I got a problem, I have import multiple files to the VLC and config it to remove the audio but I can't chose the location of the output and it's not even convert them properly only a single one of them with -convert then there's a pop up asking to keep or overwrite the files but neither of them working just keep repopping up the same file name over and over doesn't matter it's a single files or multiples or different files. I'm depressed. help please

Current version 3.0.20 using this cuts off the first ten seconds of the video, seems to be a fault/bug, going back to 3.0.0 this then worked fine for removing audio. Hopefully it will get fixed soon seems its been reported since 3.0.17...cheers

I've watched like 3 videos saying the same thing but this isn't working for me. When I hit the final save button nothing happens. I don't get the converting blue bar or anything. No save file shows up. :/

Same here. Nothing worked ! File did one convert - result was withour audio, but poor quality video. Tried again - now, the file in 'convert' box (source) has forward slashes NOT backslashes - then, it says (not surprisingly) 'cannot find file'. Fed up with VLC now, to be honest. New updates will no longer load automatically, either. Not just me, many have same problem. It's gone to the dogs - no longer fit for purpose.

it converted a 7 sec file into a blip.. i've tried it over and over, newest version of VLC

You can do it one by one, do not use it in batch, you will lose your video files.

I started using the method and all my mp4 files are gone and converted to 1k ......

the new video skips first few seconds
