Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Rear view mirror fell off on your Dodge Challenger and not sure how it goes back on? This vid is for you. Need to take off your rear view mirror and not sure how it's attached? This vid is for you. Looking for that extra pound or two to remove for weight reduction? This vid is for you.
Removing and installing the rear view mirror is so easy it can be done in seconds, if you know how it's attached that is, and not all mirrors are the same. So in this vid I remove the rear view mirror in my 2020 Dodge Challenger 1320 while detailing exactly how it attaches, then show how to put it back on, and finally, for all my weight reduction people, I throw it on a weight scale to see how much weight you can save at the track.

    For those who don't take it off all the time. You will never get it on this way. That plastic cover is 2 pieces. Take that off. Then get the mirror back on. Then you can put the plastic covers back on. Same thing when taking it off. Take off the cover first

    Love your weight reduction videos Chris. I really like that it can all go right back on in a day. I made the terrible mistake of completely gutting my first race car down to the bone. Pretty much just tore it all apart and threw everything away. A few years later when I wanted to start street driving it the regrets really sank in. It was a 440 powered '71 Plymouth Duster that I built in 1978... man I miss that car. My heart melts every time I see one. I do the love the 1320 though. I don't have the nerve to lighten it, besides, with bracket racing I only need to be consistent, not faster. At my old age, 11's are plenty fun.

    I love those old Dusters, always felt they were the epitome of affordable performance that mopars were known for. I’ve been stripping interiors since the 90s with my 97 Ram. In the full size truck world it’s almost mandatory if you want to race them in any way. Eventually I’ll put everything back in my 1320, just not sure when. I’ve been thinking about how to make that vid, but it’ll definitely be a Saturday since I keep saying that’s all I need lol

    From what I've found online it looks like a blinking red light next to that sensor means it needs to be calibrated, which would have to be done by the dealer.

    No codes at all. My mirror has the assist and sos buttons which I’ve never used since I think you need a Sirius guardian or unconnect subscription to even have those features enabled. Plus there’s sensors for the auto-dimming feature which I’m guessing gets power through that plug

    That's a tough one. I did a quick search and I can't find the part number for it either. I can find the parts illustration that shows that piece, but none of the parts sites I've seen actually reference it (which is labeled #2 in the official mopar illustration that breaks down the pieces of the mirror). That'll just have to be something you'll probably need to either call or go in and talk to the dealer parts department.

    Full race prep is not in the plans, but you have inspired me to do weight reduction modding to my Scat Pack Bro. I just stripped out my rear end, trunk panels, cargo mat, speakers, etc, for 28 lbs loss so far. I was thinking about a Braillie Battery, they are only 6.8 lbs., which would get me around -72 lbs. $600, and it comes with the Lithium Charger. Can you give me tips on running a light weight racing battery in my Scat? Is it worth the investment for me, I don't race at the dragstrip, but looking for cheaper alternatives to bolt ons.

  • @artillerybuff2000

    @artillerybuff2000

    If you're not racing, I would NOT do the light weight lithium battery. They have decent cranking power when charged,, but if your car ever sits for a week, you'll have problems. They run down really fast. They have no staying power and practically zero benefit on a street driven car. I have to disconnect mine after every racing weekend because it is not daily driven and I don't want to leave it on a charger 24/7; it's actually not good for this type of battery to be kept at 100% charge 100% of the time. This is according to the paperwork that came with the battery...

  • @Scavenger1320

    @Scavenger1320

    I obviously recommend the XS Power battery I have, but artillerybuff is correct about the issues with lithium. If you do regularly drive your car it’s not so much an issue, just have to know what to do when it sits for a week or more. I only drive my car about once, sometimes twice a week (although starting in a few weeks I’ll have to drive it almost daily) and I never keep it on a charger. The times it does sit for a whole week I’ll throw the charger on it for a few hours. I’ve now had 2 occasions it sat for too long without getting charged and died, but so far I’ve been able to bring it back to life and it’s still working for me and I’m about to hit 2 years now that I’ve had it in my car.
