How to Remove and Install an OEM Honda S2000 Steering Wheel
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
This is a DIY video removing and installing a S2000 Steering Wheel on a MY2002 AP1 S2000, the procedure for the AP2 cars is the same. Since I changed my wheel the production isn't consistent so the splines are clocked just a little off, so I took it to the alignment shop to center the steering wheel. Outside of that, this is a fairly easy procedure. No need to heavily torque the bolts, take your time. I hope you like the steady camera work, I do not monetize my videos so please give it a like or thumbs up! Thanks for watching.

Feel like my wheel is a spline or two off. Thanks for video. Going to correct it
Appreciate the video explanation man. Just received the EndlessRPM OEM modded wheel I ordered a few months back and am going to be installing it shortly. Gonna save this to reference as I swap my wheels over. Guessing moving the Cruise Control buttons isn’t too hard also.

Correct, there are just a couple of screws and you can remove the buttons and transfer them over. Good Luck!
I’m in the process of doing this procedure, on my 2004 s2000. But my steering wheel was so over tightened and now I can’t get it lose even with the bolt loose.

You'll probably need a 1/2" drive breaker bar or at least an 18" long ratchet. If you only have a 3/8" drive ratchet, use a hollow jack handle or pipe to extend the handle for more leverage. Place the wheel in the lock position (with the key out) and the combination of the two should work.
I don’t have access to Honda urea grease. Honda dealer told me it’s been on national backorder for months and months. Can I use any grease? Or no grease at all?

Yes, for a steering wheel, no problem using some bearing grease. A little grease is better than none.
Lol couldn't find a video for a 2002 Honda insight then remembered it's the same as the s2000

Yup, that stuff doesn't change much with Honda models. 😉
Is there a way to mark something to show exactly where to realign the steering wheels when reassembling it?

You can try with a paint pen but the manufacturing process differed between the years and the alignment of the splines to the wheel orientation might be different between the two wheels. When I removed my old wheel and installed the replacement I clocked them similarly and they came out pretty close. Close enough that I didn't have to zero out the steering wheel at the tie-rods. Good Luck!

@@SirFixAlotAutos yes it seems like because the splines are so close that it’s easy to be off center.
@Dan tsu , can I use the horn without the horn mechanism. Will the horn Still work ??

The horn mechanism makes the electrical connection to feed the horn with power. If you don't use it and you want the horn to still work, you would have to set up a separate switch. I don't know if that answered your question.

you forgot to mention there’s a torx screw you have to remove in order to get the airbag out

2 torx
Is the airbag bolted on by anything?
@SirFixAlotAutos

It's part of the horn assembly, once you disconnect the connector on the side, you should be able to pull it straight out, it's not bolted down.

Yep, 2 torx bolts on either side
