KZread has everything!!!! I spent $70 on 2 sets of scrubs and a scrub jacket; the tops all had the job monogram on it. Well, the job didn't work out and I was going to take them to the seamstress in the neighborhood to see if she could get the monogram off. Well, found this video, worked perfectly!

I love KZread for that reason. Did you put your own monogram on? It’s been 7 months so I guess you got it taken care of by now. I could put a new one on for you for free if you don’t have a machine. I live on the east coast 🇺🇸

Nice video. I've just gotten rid of a couple of patches on a nice looking, warm jacket from a paratransit company. Now, it looks like a nice looking, warm, regular jacket. Thanks for the idea in this video!

What about when it has a piece of cloth between the back of the embroidery and the inside of shirt itself? I have some really nice/expensive scrubs from an old job and I really want to get their logo out without ruining the top. But the embroidery has this cut out piece of white cloth. I’m no seamstress so I don’t know what it’s called. Anything to save these scrubs haha
thanks for this!
Thanks helpful video
Thank you so much, this was so helpful! I wish I would have found you before I ruined so many pieces of clothing...

Thanks for this! Would this same process work on an NBA jersey made of a 100% polyester mesh body?
This is just what I was looking for I have some shirts from my former job, I really liked and didn’t want to throw Them away. Also is there away to just get a new patch with designs and just cover the old embroidery?
@murilocoelhopa
3 жыл бұрын
It would depend on the size of the embroidery you want to cover, if it's about the same size of the new one, it would be too thich and would show. Otherwise, if it is a very small embroidery you want to cover with a bigger one, you could use a patch - a pre made embroidery that you could just "glue" (usually they're heat activated) or sew above it. If you want to embroider directly above the fabric, it would be better to take off the old embroidery.
This is so helpful!!
Thanks!
Thankyou for this😊
I don’t have a seam ripper does someone know what object can replace it ?
This is extremely helpful as I have a few polo shirts from my former employer that I can wear but have their logo embroidered on.

Good video thanks
Very helpful thank you! I figured out that this also works on embroidery designs where the satin stitching is on both sides (e.g. you can’t see the bobbin stitching but a razor still works just fine to cut up all the satin stitching on the back) Also if you working with average shirt or thinner fabric, be very careful with the razor bc it’s easier than you think to cut a hole in the fabric. Learned this the hard way even though I thought I was being careful 😅
I bought a lint remover . Electric Hairball Trimmer . This help out at all ? Instead of using tweezers . I have lot of shirts and jacks like to do this to. Will dry cleaners do this type of work? Nice job. Thank you
Do this also work with removing tommy hilfiger Brand Logo?

I got this really nice rain jacket from work that’s like a waterproof polyester type material. Eventually when I quit this job I still want to wear this jacket since I get to keep it but I really hate the big ugly (like slightly larger than the diameter of a golf ball) solid embroidered logo. I’m worried that with the material, that if I remove the embroidery it will cause the jacket to be full of holes in that area since it’s such a dense embroidery design. Do you think that kind of material would do that? My other thought is maybe getting some black fabric dye and dying over the embroidery to try to hide it best I can since it’s a white and lime green design.
What if you can't access the rear?

How does sateen get made? And where can i find it and how can i get anything off?
I tried this on a knit and it worked but I left a hole in the fabric :(
Could a tailor that puts embroidery on use the same machine to unstitch it, perhaps with better results?
Would it matter if the material was a sateen like Starter jacket ? Would that make the holes easier to see?
@LetsLearnToSew

Yes, some fabrics like sateen are more likely to snag or leave stitch holes behind.

It should be fine but I'd test it in a small spot first.
I have a very nice older Harley heavy jacket made from cowhide my dad gave me and it has a faded out old harley patch on the rear of the jacket and unfortunately it's not sewn like your patches are, it didn't go through the lining so I can't do the procedure like you did. It's looks like the only way to remove it would be to do it on the leather. Do you know if there's a way to do it without damaging the leather to bad? I know it may leave some tiny holes but I have some leather filler that can go in the spots and we can use some black dye on it.
@LetsLearnToSew
2 жыл бұрын
They probably removed the lining when they put the patch on, or it was sewn on before the lining. I would be worried about damaging the leather. I'd try taking it to a shoe repair shop because they usually also do leatherwork. Most shops will at least tell you if it can be done and give you an estimate.

How do you recommend removing embroidery from a 100% Nylon Puffer jacket? I don't want to have a lot of holes
@LetsLearnToSew

I'd use a razor and only work from the backside. Nylon isn't super forgiving so you may see some small holes. Most will close up after washing but they may not all.
Can you remove from rain jacket
I don't have a razer at hand. So I used a sharp knife to carefully cut the threads on its back, so reach the same effect. Then pull the thread at front side. The difficult one was the small characters. But anyways, used your idea and done the job. Thanks.

If I do this process on a rain jacket/wind breaker will it leave visible holes? Just checked the tag and it is 100% Nylon

I'm not. Nylon is picky and not very forgiving. It tends to snag, and pucker and doesn't recover well when removing stitches from hems and such.

It depends on the fabric. I usually wipe the area with a damp cloth and let it dry to see if that helps. As I mention in the video it can take several washes for the marks to go away and sometimes they don't go away. It often depends on how long the embroidery design was on the fabric and the type of fabric.
