Used this and Part 2 to change the transmission in my 2006 Ford Escape XLT. Only minor differences. Excellent video and editing. The tips saved me countless hours knowing what to remove to get access to the transmission. Also, removing the lower arm at the ball joint was WAY easier than other videos I watched. Only took a few minutes to remove the Axles. People like you are what make KZread an invaluable resource. Thank you, sir!

I see this is a few years old, but wow so valuable for getting through the driver’s side engine bay! Great production. Explanations clear and concise, and your direction and indicators of WHICH nuts/bolts are very clear. Thanks a million!

Thank you! I was replacing a water pump and came across a broken tube. Wasn't sure what it was even attached to but it said 4x2 so I assumed it was the transmission. Found this video trying to see if was the transmission so I'd have a point of reference to start from, and you actually identified the exact tube by name.

I haven't started to remove the transmission in mine, yet. But since I was planning on replacing valve cover gaskets at some point, I'm going to do this at the same time I plan on removing the transmission. In doing this I'm thinking that this should give me enough clearance to reach the upper exhaust manifold bolts from the top side. Any thoughts or input would be appreciated. By the way..GREAT VIDEO!!

No need to remove thermostat housing or coolant hoses. It sucks but if you dig, you'll get to those bolts.
