Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This quick video shows... / how to remove rusted rotor with puller tool/ remove rusted rotor with puller tool/ rotor won't come off hub/ how to remove a stuck rotor/ how to get a rusted rotor off/ how to remove a stuck rotor .... I tried pounding on the rotor with a 3 pound hammer, that didn't work. It took more time to drive to AutoZone to get the puller tool than actually removing the rusted rotor....Good luck!!

I used this tool and put the lug nuts on while tightening the puller. The rotor popped off cleanly and the lug nuts kept the rotor attached to the wheel. One challenge I had was that my wheel wanted to turn when tightening the puller. Had to use a pair of channel locks to hold the rotor and wheel from spinning in between the fins.

Use penetrating oil at the lug studs and were the rotor fits over the center of the hub. Give at least an hour (a day is better) for the oil to work. Will likely brake lose more easily. If reusing old rotor, clean with brake cleaner before install. This last step applies to new rotors as well.

Hang the caliper with a piece of wire onto the spring so you can make space behind the rotor where you can give it a whack using a “metal” hammer. I used a 16oz hammer on my front rotor and it broke loose after about 4-5 hits.

My rotor was rusted on like it was welded on....I used a bungee cord hooked to the spring to hold up the caliper. .. I also used a 3 pound metal hammer which didn't work. .. That's why I used the puller tool...Thanks for watching

A little anti seize goes a long ways. All the years I have done rotors the worst case using anti seize, it took just a couple of light taps with a rubber mallet and it came right off.

There's no way. This is my first rotor and brake job and I have a 2012 camaro with 1 Only 110k miles, rotors resurfaced 1 time in its life, and the front rotors came off no problem but both the rear rotors are hard hard stuck. I used 2 cans of penetrating oil from every angle, beat the shit out of both sides with a 5 pound hammer from front and behind and the thing wobbles but won't come loose. The harbor freight puller this guy used is only good for 12.48" and my rotors are 15". If this happened to me on my first job then you must not have done many jobs. You just do your own rotors every free years no way you're a professional mechanic doing this frequently.

@@benjackson1506 I didn't word the post real well. I meant to say putting anti-seize on before putting the new rotors on goes a long way in being able to get them back off in the future. This video is actually not to bad. I have been in far worst situations. I had to rig a bottle jack with a chain to finally get one rotor to come loose.

@bfg9000d1 oh OK that makes sense. Spraying that shit on the back should be standard practice, never put much thought into mechanic work but now that I'm an adult I'm realizing that there are some animal mechanics working on these cars just rigging everything and cutting corners and banging shit up, overtightening bolts, etc
