Same method for an old Anderson ?

I did this in a rental to install a window AC unit. I filled the window gap with a piece of plexiglass. It wasn't a problem at all, but that landlady's husband hated me.

The top of my sash came out of the slidy thing on the track and now the top of my sash is hanging right out of the house. How do i reattach it? Ive tried lining the nub on the top of the window up with the hole in the slidey thing in the track but it doesnt stay in the hole

You most likely have a broken plastic shoe oon the top hinge. The typical hinge shoe is metal with a plastic covering. If the plastic breaks off, the actual hinge will not stay in the tack causing the window to fall. Replacing the hinge will solve the problem. Hinges for wood windows are usually different than those for vinyl windows. We carry hinges for many wood window brands.

Misleading. This is not removal of a casement window. It is only removal of a casement window sash.
