Finally a video answering my specific question

REmoved a lot of tape from parts. What works best is a heat gun, a metal 2" putty knife (preferably with slightly rounded edges), Goo Gone, and alcohol. Heat the tape for just 30-60 seconds a small portion 3-5" scrape and move the tape up and off. Pull off small sections until all is off. Then use a small paintbrush and brush on goo gone and let sit for a couple minutes and wipe with a rag. You may have to reapply goo gone and use a small piece of steel wool. Wipe down when all residue has been removed. Pour alcohol on a rag and wipe it all down to remove the goo gone.

Thats not bad. I had trouble cuz the glue was super dried. Steel wool on CF or epoxy might be too abrasive?? Keep these ideas in mind though for the next one

@@GregPettus Not at all, Goo Gone acts as a lubricant for the steelwool. Just used this process a couple of days ago for a carbon Tesla spoiler

When can we expect the spoiler insulation video? Will that as well be using 3m tape, or will there be hardware?

WD40 works well too if you don't have goo gone. Also removes plastidip. Great videos.

Yeah of course. You might want to keep the drl fog lights on a separate fuse than the others. But totally doable

Hey I still have some tape residue thats a pain to remove even after using goo gone . I want to apply the new 3M tape so I can attach the spoiler. Do you think the residue will affect the stickiness of the new 3M tape? I cleaned the surface with soap, water and alcohol.

Shouldnt be a huge issue if there a little left. As long as it isnt a whole lot.

How has your car held up to rock chips? My CX5 in white pearl seems to get rock chips from just the thought of rocks lol

Mines about the same. All i have to do is breath and a rock chip appears. Haha

Does using heat from a heat gun make it easier to remove this M3 tape ???

If it were more fresh yes. This had been sitting there for 2 years

I didnt try here because it was so dried up. I think those work really well with more fresh 3m tape that is still a little tacky

What happen if is try with Goo gone at the begining? No blade

I tried and it just saturated the edges and nothing.... it was pretty dried...

I wanted to but it was so dried out that i felt it would have started to mess with the epoxy

Most efficient haha..... Get a caramel wheel for like 5 bucks and save yourself heaps of time !

With this one i dont think it would have come off. It was stuck on there pretty good...
