How To Remix Any Song In Ableton (Step by Step Masterclass)
Here's part of the course for free: www.completeproducerpro.com/r...
I have 2 goals with this video. The first is obviously to give you the exact steps you need to make an awesome sounding remix in Ableton. The second is to hopefully inspire you to actually make that remix. You have it in you if you’re willing to take action.
Sorry for my hiatus btw…I was making a new course on EDM called EDM Producer Pro which is now part of Complete Producer Pro (my big main course on how to make music).
I was also building out a new studio to make better videos and music in!
But I’m back now babyyyyy and I’ll be trying to upload weekly so stay tuned and sub if you wanna keep up with the new tutorials.
Comment any questions or feedback, I try to read all the comments and respond when I can!
Thanks so much for watching, truly.
Cheers
Ethan

I just started with ableton (and production in general) less than a month ago. I’m also entering a remix contest because why not. I just wanted you to know this video is SO HELPFUL! There was a lot I was doing the extra hard way, and a lot I couldn’t even figure out yet on my own. Fantastic resource and I’ll be returning (probably several times) to break this video down and make notes. Seriously, thank you!!!

Thank you!
Just found your channel, and wow! Very useful..... So yeah I subscribed 🎉
i really love that in your tutorial videos, you try to use the stock sounds from ableton. I love that because as a beginner producer i only have stock sounds.💪💪🙏🙏
Thank you for this legend
This is by far your best video yet. Loved everything about it. the way you showed everything you were doing. the way you stayed native in Ableton so I don't get lost when you switch to a 3rd party plug in and I don't know what it means. Also love that you are putting together an edm course. great job Ethan. can't wait to see what you make after this.

Great video. How did you get the music audio clips from?
Thanks for the vids @Ethan! Out of curiosity, what's the purpose of the limiter in this (and why did you go for independence)?
My youngest loves your john blaya track Confident. We have a lot of fun with that one.
You're awesome holy shit.
new video nice
Men love your videos! I would love to see a video where you make funky house. I am trying to make a song like Menesix - Love in Rio but i find it so hard to make like these funky piano chords en other elements in te song. Could you make a video about something like that? Thanks for all te help! ❤️
nice
Thank you! Such a great video. Have you ever used Invisible Limiter on the master? If so, whats your opinion on that VS Pro L?
@CompleteProducer
3 ай бұрын
i havent! sounds like an intriguing plugin to me. I prefer Pro L2 out of habit and experience so I'd recommend it as my first choice
hey man you are an absolute producer. can u make a whole course for mixing producing etc in abelton ??
@CompleteProducer

i did! check the link in the description
You are very good teaching. My issue is making music that all sounds alike. Remember the people who made real hit records that everyone knows, that permeated culture and has stood for generations could walk into a studio or onto a stage and actually perform it.

great tutorials mate ! a question, if i want to rmx a pop song into 174bpm drum n bass, do i need to timestretch vocals or does the warp thing this ?
@CompleteProducer

warp will do that!
I would love if you did something emotional like shiver by John summit🙏

when will edm producer pro be released and can we purchase that separate from complete producer pro. Really just looking to learn to make edm music similar to that of audien, Twinsick, discolines, John summit!!!
Can you explain instruments arrangement ?
This channel is amazing. Love your content. I am a teacher at a school in NYC teaching music production and I was wondering if I could get the acapella to this for my music production crouse on a unit in teaching how to make remixes. This will be strictly a use of educational purposes. Thank you in advance for your your response. _Orrin
Would it be weird if I ask for a tutorial on your file management? How to get my folders to auto back up to my Dropbox from my external hard drive
Do you intentionally avoid using the looping function for your midi sections? If so, how come? I find it so much smoother and tidier than copy+pasting notes, and really helpful if i want to tweak a progression or groove.

i think i do it the way i do out of habit and because i started by knowing some piano first and tried to translate that into a DAW. but use whatever method helps you work faster and stay inspired!
Who would you recommend for courses on producing country/ rock records?

honestly, i don't know, that's a great question! my course is designed for any genre, but I'm sure there are people who specialize in country/rock

i do! just one big called Complete Producer Pro and a smaller one called EDM Producer Pro that comes with the big one. just go to the link in the vid description and either watch the webinar or go to page after to see a BUNCH of details on it!
how to get that accapella ?
How the heck do you get your sounds to sound more full?

sub bass is a good start! i cover that in the video. also sound selection when you're picking your mids. i also cover that in the video.
anyone trying to get solid vocals from any track. UVR will extract you real clean stuff

@@CompleteProducer also i recommend downloading the UVR-MDX-NET Inst HQ 3 model. if you open up the options, you can download new models. that one works the best for extracting basically studio quality acapellas. let me know what you think
what is that programme name that u use?

why does it seem when I do ur step by step and others aswell some samples dont match the tempo..I get sooo frustrated trying to remix songs and end up stopping.. I have tried shorting samples aswell but same.. ill add simple kicks to see if matches up and will always sound sooo off
ethan one question how can i make midi bass sound more real ?
@pheromusic

if you want to use a third party plugin I heard about a new one called „Human“ it literally humanizes the way the chords/melodies are played but I haven‘t tried it myself yet
@TheOldOnes-MusicLabel

Use velocity, automations and upbeat notes!

the other comments have good advice! if you're trying to get it to sound like someone actually played it there's a plugin called Trillian that's in Kontakt and Charlie Puth used for his song Attention that sound pretty darn real. I have a bass, and I can play it, so I haven't dived super deep into plugin alternatives. In my next video I program a bass, and then I also play the same part and record it, and that may give you some ideas/options so stay tuned!

am i crazy or, after you moved that section of bass down an octave, it totally messed with the sound? lots of clashing? could totally be my headphones (i love this and all your vids by the way!! no hate at all, just confused)

yep - switch from airpods/mac speakers to seinheiser, and sounds great! wild how much that can change! (if you try it with mac/iphone/airpods, curious if you hear what i heard! unsure what causes that - i suppose the bass is just too low in some parts and lesser speakers overcompensate?)@@CompleteProducer

I dont really know how to make my drums sound real tho
I have to stop the video to say this... Only this week I thought of setting the project to the original acappella's BPM and then setup the bpm I want. I was talking to someone about this, and mentioned I did not watch your video, and I instanly thought you would be doing this. Crazy stuff. And for years Tubers have been splashing some complicated BS about how to setup your vocals/acapellas. Insane how much garbage is out there.
What are you trying to show here doesn’t make any sense just create the music. Waste of time to do it this way.
