My nephew 28 yr old James Smith died dec.4 2011 from an abscess tooth. Unfortunately the dr. missed the infection surrounding his brain in the C.T scan until his brain swelled so bad it was in his neck.. I never would have believed someone could die from a abcess tooth . @Natalia Delfin, Just ordinary cooking salt I scoop it with my toothbrush and go for it (rather than diluting salt in water and use it as mouthwash) BUT am not sure if using salt have an effect to your braces? Better ask your doctor first ok before using salt ok :))

Ibuprofen works better than advil

I found that garlic is much more effective. I went out on a Friday night and got something stuck in my tooth. It turned into the worst tooth infection which also included an abscess that ruptured and got infected. It was literally a nightmare. My gums became super swollen and started bleeding really bad. The max dose of Vicodin and Iburprofen only worked for about half an hour. Then they didn’t worked at all. My dentist office is closed on the weekend so I was in excruciating pain the first two nights until A friend of mine told me to take a piece of garlic and place it on the gums. It was literally a miracle. It took all the pain away.

Yep raw garlic is just as good as any antibiotic it kills infections it's a great antibiotic antiviral antifungal kills parasites u name it when chopped up in raw form it produces Allicin a sulfur compound that kills viral infections and resistant bacteria also mix salt water and peroxide as well that helps seep into the abscess as well just dealt with one 3 days usually they are longer but this cut the time

I cannot stress enough how much sinusitis and allergies play a role in misinterpreting tooth pain. About 15 years ago, I was warned by my dentist that my wisdom tooth might pose some issues down the road. A few days ago I noticed a sharp pain and an abscess around my wisdom tooth. After taking care of my teeth for 15 years, eg, flossing, extra strength fluoride paste, I thought my worst fears is coming true. My family doctor prescribed me Amoxicillin for 7 days. The swelling and pain virtually disappeared after 3 days, but as an avid flosser, numbness immediately returned each time after I flossed. So I thought "Oh shit, the infection is still there". 2 more days of Amoxicillin, flossing always brought back the numbness. I haven't taken any Reactine (my usual antihistamine) during this period, but I thought what the hell. I work outdoors, so it can't hurt. Within *five minutes* after popping a Reactine pill, the numbness turned into a tingling sensation and I could feel my face again! In retrospect it wasn't a lingering infection at all. It was just my stupid sinuses fueling the discomfort. So don't underestimate how allergies can affect tooth pain. Thankfully I just avoided wisdom tooth removal. For now.

@@michiejewel5989 Up and down. Sometimes I just feel like I'm just delaying the inevitable. After Amoxicillin and after about 2 months, the pain returned. I discovered this miracle mouthwash called Peroxyl by Colgate. I used this for about 3 or 4 days and the pain disappeared. Here's the sad part. Whenever the pain flared up again (a couple of times since then) I used Peroxyl again, but it became less and less effective each time. You can't use this stuff everyday for more than a week (it's hydrogen peroxide) or else you'll ruin your teeth. Now the area around my wisdom tooth is mildly sore, but I'm using a good strong gingivitis-fighting mouthwash twice a day. It's one of those things where you hope (a) your body fights off the pain, or (b) it doesn't get any worse. So far so good.

Whenever the pain comes back use peppermint extract, b4 I had all my wisdom teeth removed the pain was so bad I would get these really bad headaches and my cheeks would swell up and the pain was so bad I would lose my appetite and feel Nauseous but with the peppermint extract I would get a clean q-tip dip it into the peppermint extract bottle and then rub it into the tooth that would be bothering me the most and with that my headache would go away my appetite would come back and the pain would subsidie for a few days if not weeks.

That's true .Sinus infections literally forced me to have a few teeth removed and have a bridge put in place thinking my teeth were infected, only after one week of the pain not going away did I get antibiotics to treat an infection

Saltwater + tumeric. My back molar is giving me serious issues and I can't make to a dentist for about a week. The gum tissue around the molar is about the size of a marble and starting to affect my jaw and tongue. The rinse solution of salt and tumeric has helped tramendously so far. I'm still scouting for more options.

Yeah,but I am afraid my teeth will come out if I brushed or flossed them. When gums are inflamed,one becomes very aware of teeth in mouth. It's unpleasant sensation and quite fear infusing. :(

That looks way better advice then what my dentist told me That inconpetent fool was trying to convince me that my infection was caused by listerine and that by simply brushing my teeth it would go away Its really frustrating when your familly doctor is more competent then your dentist my doctor prescribed me anti-biotics and told me i need to change dentist because my cause is pretty extreme

I found peppermint essential oil relieve the pain too. Apply on the swollen area and apply along jaw line a blend of lavender and peppermint. Only use good quality EO. Also chew clove or apply clove oil to area. Found a lot of relief.

I wish I could see the part currently hurting. The pain is all the way at the end of my right top gum. I would have thought it's a wisdom tooth trying to come out but they already removed that wisdom tooth, unless another one is coming out from there again? I got penicillin in the ER two nights ago. How many days does it take to relieve pain? Secondly I get a tight chest sensation with Ibuprofen. Is there any NSAID that I can take? I'm taking Tylenol and just takes the edge off.

Sucks when you're almost 26 on the 27th of this month, no job (but looking), on Medicaid, but Medicaid in my state will not help anyone over 21 get work done to their teeth. So you have to constantly suffer and deal with the pain. I make sure I have strong medicines in the house for times like these. All I want is sleep un-interrupted for a couple of hours, at least 7 hours of sleep. Pain when you're trying to sleep is no fucking fun.

hello my friend , There are different kind of substitute programs that provide assistance with dental. they may not be insurance plan but they work like one. just search dental assistance without insurance. I used a plan years ago. It helped me . I think I paid like 13.00 per month. prayers for you, my friend.

My gums are swollen. I have issues with that a lot. I can tell when I have infection b/c my sickle cell will act up & I'll go into sickle cell pain crisis. I used the Listerine that's brown in color. It makes have burned a ton but it def helped. After that I brushed my teeth and went back to bed. I have all my cavities in between my teeth because floss can't really get into those spots for me. My front tooth has been broken for almost a year. I went to see a "dentist" and was there for simple consult but since he & his staff were made up of 3 ppl switching tasks he drilled it off. I've been to several dentists and they never give me an answer to fixing my front tooth which is embarrassing to walk around like this. My primary has me on an antibiotic hoping the next dentist I see on the 28th will do a temporary fix. I stopped my courses as well. All ppl do is stare. The rest of my teeth are okay despite the cavities & this broken one.

Yeah you can't just "go to the dentist." Call them and see if they can book you in within 2-3 months... And that's just for them to take xrays and look at your teeth. Then they'll tell you they'll work on a tooth in another 2-3 months... Good luck if you have an absessed tooth or need a pulling.

@@galinamatrossova197 turmeric and coconut oil. Wash out ur mouth with Himalayan salt. Mix turmeric spice and coconut oil til it's a paste. Put it directly in bad tooth. All over. (Doesn't sting) leave it on as long as u can. Wash out and repeat until infection is gone.

I went from having a bad headache for almost a month, to now my gums are starting to hurt. Worst month ever. And I don't get my wisdom teeth pulled until October 19th. This is hell. Hope you are ok now. Medicine side-effects scare me because they are more severe than what I am going through. Ibuprofen helps though but shouldn't be taken in excess. I am trying home-remedies and believe they work slowly but surely. I trust natural remedies. But honestly, there's a part of me that just wants this to end instantly... but there's also a part that wants to enjoy life. I am stuck and I hope I can break this cycle soon.

So rite now I have bump on my upper tooth and I actually don't have pain and doesn't even hurt when I touch it so idk if a blister or pimple. But it doesn't hurt at all.

For everyone that post "I went to the dentist to fix this or that" well I hope you realize alot of us can't afford a damn dentist and to pull a tooth out is damn near 300 dollars. I actually feel sad about how expensive tooth extraction is in the US.. From where i am from, tooth extraction cost around 400-800 pesos and that's equivalent to $8-16.

I think I developed gingivitis due to my neglect of oral hygiene. My gums are very pale,but bright red thin line frames teeth. I have no pain whatsoever,just pressure on gums, loads of fear and obscurity . Since I am abroad,going to dentists is out of question and I have no idea what to do. I take antibiotics which were prescribed for my tooth abscess that was incised a few months ago so It kind of relieves the feeling of discomfort . Besides medicine,I do oil pulling,peroxide moutwash,tea-tree oil moutwash,but the symptons haven't died out yet and It really concerns me.

Can any one tell me the accurate name of the medicine for swollen gums

This pain hurts and was jumping from random teeth. Yesterday I tried going to sleep and that's when I experienced pain I never felt in my entire life. My entire gums and jaw on my left side had this deep throbbing pain come on all of a sudden. I thought I was having a stroke. The pain was so bad. I'm gonna get some antiseptic mouth wash,ibuprofen and some oral gum and tooth pain gel. The pain is so unbearable 😭😭😭

Thank you this actually helps., now if only i rid of the nausea that comes along with the fever. Oh well thanks anyway.

When I went to the orthodontist to tighten my braces he told me my gums are swallow and my teeth may fall out soon! He was very firm and strict as well! He said he will stop the treatment if he sees it again! I keep forgetting to brush my teeth after every meal! I try to do hard and I worry so much when I see blood! I had. Is dream where one teeth fell out, and when I told my mum she said it’s maybe a sign from god! I’m so scared

you really need to strengthen your nerve endings with a calcuim magnesium zinc supplement

nobody will help me, i am broke, no income no job, still looking. and i have bad teeth rotted down to gum line :( now i have this puff absess in gums i can't get rid of. it's in the deep gum, not on edge to where i can poke it etc. Also, AFFORDABLE DENTURES tells me i need new teeth but it'll cost 10k... how is that affordble?

Dec.4 2011 my nephew passed away from an abscessed tooth. I never knew it could happen until he did.. I don't know where you're located but I know in the county I'm in there's a lot of free dental clinics

farmacies don't sell aniinflamatories with out dr recepies this days, I was having night shift they didn't want to sell me, speend entire night with the pain, but other time heald faster just by eating fruits

My gums are swollen but it does not hurt at all

mouthwash helps alot

im 15 and i had swollen gums for abt 2 years and they still dont hurt.

*I have a small round bump/swelling right under my front top lip on the inner part of my lip since 2 days ago and I feel light pulses going on that swelling and and also some small pulses right below that on one upper middle left tooth. The bump is really painful especially after eating a normal meal/dinner. Can anyone please tell me why I suddenly have this? It’s also painful when I touch that bump/swelling with my tongue. On a side note, I have one tooth on the upper part of my mouth that needs root canal. Can that be the reason why I have this small bump all of a sudden under my upper lip on the inner part for the last 2 days?

I have the exact same thing now. Did your bumps go away with root canal? Or did the gum infection cause you’re lips to swell or was it was it the anti-biotics? Please respond I’m in the exact same situation

@@erikvilla__ you may have an absence in your gums. For immediate relief, try baking soda and oregano or clove oil in water, followed by hydrogen peroxide 2x a day. Then try to see a dentist immediately.

You need antibiotics

My gums are not in pain but when I suck in it feels like they’re moving. I also have a bit of swelling behind the bottom front teeth that seems to come and go. What the hell is wrong with me?

Floss the areas, and boil water then add salt and swish. When you floss there should be a little blood and smell but thats good because it means your cleaning it out

Hot water and salt works The best like I’m not sure if I have a wisdom tooth but I had a swollen bump growing on my tooth and used hot water and salt to relive the pain and about 2 hours later the bump started healing and it’s not swollen anymore

Garlic powder from $1 store works pretty good

Had a Viral infection that left me weak an now my whole gums are infected. I floss use Corsodyl, brush with flouride and are on different 2 antibiotics, and still havent helped . Now next is the deep clean 🤦‍♂️ Dumbest infection ever I cant even eat

That's exactly what's happening with me!! I haven't eaten anything solid in a week! Even then its very little because my throat feels like needles stabbing me when I swallow!

My cuz kicked and I moved my face then she kicked me on my gun and now it's stinging it was by accident but I don't know to fix it burns SD

Im scared docter i cant afford. To get my tooth extraction and i have a swollen tooth

Couldn't sleep last night due to immense pain in my gums💔💔 writing this in a painful situation

This just worked for me, I woke up with a swollen jaw, from a tooth that's been a problem for months.. I used antibiotic mouthwash the swelling is already going down. I just took some ibuprofen, hopefully I can walk around tomorrow without looking like a mutant

@@NostalgicRemedy Hey there Klickitty Kan McKapps, I used listerine original, the one that looks like a bottle of dark urine lol... It's antiseptic, but it tastes like someone made home-brewed vodka out of the old, hot slimy dead grass in the bottom of the composter. Just a big bottle of mouth murder🙊 I took ibuprofen extra strength (400mg) at the same time. Within a couple of hours the swelling went down by 80%... Then after 6 or 7 hours went by, it was totally gone. I was so relieved... It's been over a month, & I haven't had any problems since. I'm gonna have to see a dentist eventually, but with Covid, you know.. Still no toothaches or swelling, just occasionally tender & sensitive. How you feeling? You got one of those "Wrong Turn" or "The Hills Have Eyes" mutant faces right now? If you do, then I feel your pain... Can you let me know how it goes? ​@@tobymcgroby8967 Okay so I went to the dentist on Thursday morning, and apparently its just my wisdom teeth growing out weirdly. The swelling has gone down a lot after 3 weeks, but it flares up every once in a while. But overall it isn't like before, it's a minor impact on my mouth now.. especially since I can chew food again without that much of a problem. The dentist said it won't permanently go away unless I remove the wisdom teeth. It's gonna cost me like $800 to remove without insurance (america sucks) that I don't have so I'm gonna have to wait probably a month or two till I gather money to remove it. Thankfully it's not infected or anything and doesn't impact me as much anymore so me waiting to get it out isn't that much of a problem. Dentist said to keep the wisdom tooth and gum around it clean and use a cup of warm water with salt inside and wash my mouth with it, if it ever starts to flare up again or to take 3 Advil's a day. I'm actually relieved since I thought it was an abscess, thank god it wasn't. But yeah appreciate the help you gave me.
