I was in tears this morning when I couldn’t get my disabled son’s clothes out due to the lock not opening. Tried the card first and couldn’t get it. My nylon string was too weak and broke. Finally, I just shut all the power off for a bit then boom, it unlocked 😅

Could have been useful to just have a pin or button to unlock the door. Situations like this make me agree with Ted Kaczynski view on technology

Struggling still 😢 I’m replacing the catch for a 3rd time as it has cracked again. I can’t get it in with the wire trick this time though. Even though I managed twice previously! Doing my bloody head in. Any more tips are appreciated!

Great video - I had to use a flat screwdriver from the inside of the machine to open my broken door. Ordered the replacement outside door lock mechanism from eSpares at 20:50 on Friday evening and it was delivered on Saturday afternoon via next day priority posting. All for £23 plus about £7 postage. Fantastic service - Couldn't be happier!😀

Banging on my GE washer door activated the lock like you suggested! Is there a reason why it’s getting stuck and there’s a need to do this? My washer is brand new so it’s quite strange.

Sir good afternoon Plz help me my machine ( ifb senorita aqua 6.5 kg ) shows door msg on screen but did not start for washing the cloth.. door open and close but machine is not work

I just want to say how great your video is! But, oh, man, I tried all of these methods and none of them worked for me! I even took the top lid off and noticed there was no visible hook. I took the kick plate off in the front and, using a telescoping mirror, saw a delicate little white plastic pull tab. Gave it a gentle tug with my finger and heard it unlock! In case someone else runs into my same situation, my machine is an older Kenmore HE2. Otherwise, this really is a great video! Thank you for making it!

Just washed work clothes which I need for the morning. Somehow I've busted the handle and can't get them out. Losing the plot and seconds away from using dynamite to get my clothes out. Checked you tube and I've opened it with string like you showed. Thank you. You tube is the bollocks. I love it. But one thing I'm sure of is, that string will be my handle forevermore. Fuck that shitty plastic spring clip thing. Great vid

Thank you Mr. Mine didn’t open because of broken handle. I had to open the top to access from inside to open it - relatively easy even for a computer admin type person. Next step I guess is to find and buy the right handle that works! Thank you for the helpful video God Bless!
