How to RELAX your ACCENT | Part 1 | Connected Speech & Linking in English

This lesson is PART 1 of a series of English lessons created to help you reduce your accent and communicate more clearly in English.
This is SO IMPORTANT to build your confidence speaking in English and increase your fluency. Improve your pronunciation and increase your listening skills, so that you can understand fast-talking native speakers.
Note: My video lessons are created to help English learners to improve their pronunciation and speaking skills. Please note that the pronunciation of some of these words differs between English accents. I speak with an Australian English accent 🙂

Even though we are talking about REDUCING your accent in this video... HAVING an accent is not a bad thing! What part of your accent do you love most? Do any native English speakers complement your accent? What do they say?!! 😍

Thank you for your videos -I see where my problem is-the linking of the words ! Thank you again for all your help mmmEnglish. I will be practicing for sure..❤️🌹

Hello Emma. I am a Turkey citizen that who has got a grammar knowledge, which is between intermediate and upper intermediate. I am going to the university this year and although our lectures are completely English and although it is not that advanced English that they give us, just because of my goal of being an academician in Australia, I have decided to level up my listening and speaking(also naturally my pronunciation) skills to the top level that I can. As a result of that, I have started to watch English videos and follow only English channels on KZread. I will be watching all of your videos on KZread if I must(and other people's videos' too, of course). Keep up the good work!

    I often hear linking in some of these: Hold-on, end-up, watch-out, catch-on, keep-it-up, kind-of, does-it, make-a, a-lot-of, on-a, Can you hold-on-a minute? ... etc.

Absolutely, Alexey! Phrasal verbs are a GREAT way to practise consonant-to-vowel linking because most verbs end in a consonant, and many prepositions start with a vowel! 🙌

I was confused with the linking of "new assignment" because I thought the word "new" ended in a vowel sound since "w" sounds like "u"
