This is a great way to store salmon or any other fish in the fridge for about a week.

Talked to you on the river last Saturday, thank you for the words of advice. I ended up coming back the next day at last light, although I didn't land any fish I hooked 6 coho

Nice, yeah, they're difficult to land. I probably lose around 1/2 the coho I hook, some days even more.

Damn a weeks a pretty long time. I normally eat it in a day or two, freeze it or smoke/can it. Might try it if I am crunched for time. Do you need to remove the skin for your storage method?

White chinook skin is what gives them the bad smell, so for chinooks I cut off the skin and brown fat. For Coho the skin can stay on if it's been scraped clean of slime prior to filetting.
