HOW TO REFILL YOUR INK CARTRIDGE 🖨🌈
Supplies
- Printer refill ink
- Syringe and blunt needle/ nozzle
- Tape (recycled paper tape is lovely)
- An old towel/ sheet and some rags/cloths in need of a bit of colour
- Drill and a tiny glass/tile drill bit
- Rubber gloves if you don't want rainbow hands
- Try to find these second hand or recycled before buying new.

Step 1: Remove the sticker
- If it's stubborn you can use a box cutter knife
Step 2: Widen the holes
- Use a drill and a small glass/tile drill bit, just a bit wider than your needle
- If you can't get your hands on a drill maybe a hammer & a slim nail would do the job?
Step 3: Fill holes with ink
- I was supposed to put 3ml into each of my cartridge sections, but instead I filled them until they overflowed & everything worked out fine 🤷🏻‍♀️
- Clean syringe and nozzle thoroughly with water between inks
- Bonus tip: instead of pouring the watery ink down the drain, save it for arts & crafts 🎨
Step 4: Wipe cartridge clean & cover holes with tape
- Cut to size and don't let it go over the sides
Step 5: Run cleaning cycles
- Search for your printer make & model to bring up the manual
- Put the cartridge back in the printer and run 3 printer head cleaning cycles
- Print out a nozzle check
- Keep running cleaning cycles until the nozzle check looks good
If your ink cartridge doesn't look like mine, I'm sure you can still refill it. You might just need to Google how.

I know this is a very random topic, and probably not worth getting this excited over, but I genuinely loved doing this so much!
If you guys have an issue like this that needs solving, please let me know in the comments. I'd love to give it a shot.
Honestly at this point trying to be zero waste is like a game to me. I love the challenge of trying to resolve these little problems.
