He knows the basics but he’s not the best go to guy for S1. Don’t use those ProTools commands they’re longer and more complicated. Like adding a Track shift command N... why!!!! Studio One command is one key “T” for track and the box pops up. Simple you can’t forget T for track. And he never talked about the input control for the beat track to gain stage without moving the fader.

@@ThaRealWillowBeatz so true how do you gain stage without moving the fader. I'm currently stuck. thanks

Dwayne Kendrick_ in the mixer options you click the box that says input control and that will put a line level at the top of every track on the mixer.

Very helpful thank you wavy
On turning the beat down (or any sounds input level): You turned it down by lowering the Post-Fader, so the input level stays the same before any effects, compressors, EQ's, etc. If you click the wrench and check the "Input Controls" option a knob appears at the top of the tracks. It lowers the volume pre-amp before being sent to any effects. It doesn't matter if you don't intend to place any inserts on the track, but I thought it'd still be good information for people. Love the channel man!

Yeah, it’s Gain Staging 101, using the trim pots!! also right click on the fader just to the right of the values and select “pre fader metering” this can stay on along with your regular scale choice {peak, peak/rms} [[[protools offers many more}]]] so you can see both when monitoring or just see pre fader when muted for visual gain staging, You can also choose to leave on peak hold and choose a display duration if you are as anal as me, lol
I’ve searched far and wide for beginner videos and honestly I think this is the best one. You break everything down clearly and slowly. By the end of the video I couldn’t believe it was done already lol was enjoying it that much. Keep it up!
aye bro i rock with your energy. always good seeing a brother out here handling his biz. new sub.
Wayne youre making quarantine so easy!!! Thanks for the videos man
Absolutely incredible tutorial, you are fantastic at explaining things and keeping the flow of the video going. Watching this makes me feel more confident in recording some new music. Thank you for the tutorial!
This helped so much!!! One of the best ones I watched! You're a great teacher and I can tell you love it! Thanks! :D
Thank you for this video! I've had studio one for a while but I'm used to Logic Pro so was terrified to use studio one cause it seems so different. You break down everything in a really good way by explaining what things mean as well as what to do and that's so useful to a newbie like myself. Thank you! You got a subscriber
Please continue this and focus on Studio One. This would help out so many artists and engineers 🙏
You know, I've known what latency is and how to avoid it, but listening to you just now unlocked a new understanding of how to work around it. Thanks!
Super helpful and informative! Ive been producing on my phone for 5 years and this was a big step up and seemed hard to swallow! looking forward to seeing more!

This is exactly what i needed. I've watched countless videos and they were either too much info at once or were not showing me what i was looking for to just record some vocals. Thanks for this video! Easy to follow and understand. One thing i didn't get was how u added a beat. U did it so fast and i do not have a mac.
