How to Read the Psalms
Here's my advice on how to read the Psalms, the two questions we need to ask.
Here's a longer conversation introducing the book of Psalms:

And, here's Luther's introduction to the books of the Bible, including a brilliant introduction to Psalms:

Psalm 22 is my favorite Psalm, because it's the song Our Lord sang from the Cross. It not only connects me to His anguish, that was caused by my own sin, but it reminds me that the Price has been paid...
Appreciated your video. My favorite psalm right now is psalm 37 and I'm feeding on the statement: delight in the lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. It struck me that delighting in the lord is and action of desire from my heart!
I love the idea of forming a picture in my mind while reading the Psalms. Thank you.
Thank you Pastor. God's peace be with you
Thank you, I really enjoy your videos. Such a blessing! Psalm 63
Thank you, Bryan, the tips are indeed helpful. Psalms are indeed very helpful for quiet times especially when we can slow down and picture what the psalmists were trying to paint for us.
Super helpful! The psalms can be daunting
So many good psalms, but right now I’ll go with 27, 2, 110, and the book-ends (1 & 150)! Thanks!!

I have been struggling to read the psalms. I read half the bible already but seems difficult for me to find the interest to read the psalms. Not sure why this is and that's why I'm watching this video.

I love this repeated line throughout Psalm 107, no matter what trouble is depicted that the people were in -“Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.”
What is your favorite way to find the answer to that first question, "Who is talking to whom?".
Psalm 22:9-11 is a fantastic example of the faith that we're given at Baptism, as an infant.

I find hard to relate to asking God to destroy my enemies. Other than my sin and perhaps hidden demonic . But the psalmist often refers to humans.
