How to Read a Peyote Pattern

Hi, I am starting with odd peyote stitch to make rings, and mostly I am following KZread videos to make them, but if I want to follow a pattern, I get confused on counting how many beads I have to take at the beginning. Should I have to count only the beads that are sticking out? For example, on your odd count peyote pattern I can count 10 sticking beads, Am I counting this right? Sorry if I am not explaining myself properly, I hope you understand what I mean. Thanks in advance

Yes that is how the rows are counted because they are offset.
