Very good question. It is really hard to get a local transport from Dawarian Bridge. It took us almost 3 hours to get our ride. Yes you can stay at base camp with kids and family.

Very informative indeed! Two questions though: 1- how long should one plan to spend in Ratti Gali? Do you return back the same day of visiting Ratti Gali or do you stay any further around that area? 2- did you have to bring your own camp or are camps available for rent at the camp site before the morning hike to the lake?

As long as you like. If you ask me one day is enough. There are more places around Ratti Gali so you can give them a try. We had our own tents but there are tents available on rent. You pay them and they will provide you with everything.

You can get a hotel at Dawarian village. Stay the night and move in the morning to Ratti Gali Lake in jeep

I wrote all the prices for each vehicle, But if you can share the jeep with other people then it will be 1000 each person for jeep, so total 3000 per person if you take your own tent and sleeping bags like we did.

I did mention time from faizabad to Muzaffarabad and Dawarian to Ratti Gali camp. It took almost 8 hours to reach the lake from faizabad though.

Almost 5 hours for each ride. Yes we left in the morning and reached base camp in night. One day.

Can u plz update me on road? Can we go on jeep track on normal car ? On a scale of 0 to 10 how would u rate the road comparing it with kalaam road? Is there any special permit to camp beside lake else there would b no fun going there....

It is not possible to go there on a saloon car. If you have 4x4 then it is possible. Secondly Sir we are a pathetic and messy nation. We litter where ever we go. So it's better if you stay at base camp (it is important for the good health of the lake) and visit the lake in day time.

You have to drive almost 3 hours to reach Dawarian Bridge. Yes they give tents on rent. But we took our own with us.

Ambiguous information. secondly ratti gali is not discovered by Mistansar Hussain Tarrar. i visited this place with my uncle in 1969 when i was 9 years old.

Hike is 50min if you are fit. Otherwise 1 hour and 10mina max. If you go slow it's not hard at all. Bathroom situation is quite good if you ask me, considering the area.

I don't think there will be any problem with kids if you are going in summers. Temp is not very low but there is a strong wind. If you keep your kids covered then there is no problem at all. Also it's cold in night only. In day it's normal temperature.

Yes you can travel through a bike single rider. But it is not recommended from me.

bhool kar bhi bike pay na jana hamain bhi bike pay jana ka shok tha logon bhot roka lykan ham gaye but hardly we traveled 3km and we had to leave our bike there. we were five persons ,three went by jeep and we 2 went by foot and we reached in 4 hours hiking

Jo jeep apko ly k jati hy wohi subha apko wapis ly k b ati hy. 6000 for whole trip. Jeep can take 7 to 8 people.

You can book a jeep from Dawarian village Bridge. That's the point from where you start your climb.

Yes jeep will take you to base camp. You can't camp at the lake as we Pakistanis are very famous for littering. If they allow camping on the lake people will convert that beautiful lake into Nala Lai in no time. June to August is the best time to visit Ratti Gali Lake

No you can not reach at base camp via jeep at this time you have to wait more 15 days bcoz i visited the ratti gali lake last week there were a lot of glaciers after half jeep track so jeep track is stuck only 6 to 7 km and the balance track you have to do on food which is very tough so wait till 15th july-2018

By end of September it will be fine to go. You can park your car at Dawarian Bridge there is a hotel that can keep your car safe.

Yes it's possible. You can make a stay at Dawarian village as there are some hotels there. And alot of people make the same plan as you are thinking. And its a good plan.

As much as you can. Travelling is not that expensive it's your living style that matters. If you live in expensive hotels and eat traditional expensive food then it will cost you alot of money. I will give you one tip. Make most of your expense on site seeing and less on food and hotels. You will be fine.

dr parveen i, it is very unfortunate and misleading statement about the “ so called discovery of the lake, as a Kashmiri timber contractor my father went there in 1959 when it used to be a mule track, I went there in 1992, when it was partially mule track, not everything published on “ google” is Devine revelation, should do some research, Kashmiri nomads called bakarwals have been using these meadows for centuries. Uploader should correct the info.

Gsh Hsjhssj when you enter neelum valley the border starts at Noseri, 18 km from muzaffarabad, which is called line of control also, it is naturally created by river neelum. It runs throughout the whole valley in patches. There is another route which goes through kaghan valley via jhul khud, very tiring long way, that does not have border.

And jeep fair was 6000 from where till where And its 6000 both sided fair or one side
