    This is the most underrated channel on KZread. People are so stuck in their poverty mindset that they genuinely don't believe it's possible to be free. Your first live video was awesome. I don't know how you managed to talk so well for 40 minutes. Great job!

    Quit my job at age 62, downsized from a home, 2 bedroom apartment, studio apartment to a van in March 2021. My mother got sick, kids went nuts because I got rid of everything and was living in a van. My son purchased a duplex and pleaded with me to move in🙏🏽 my 2002 econoline E150 broke down and I gave in🤷🏽‍♀️now I’m back in sticks and bricks, refusing to buy any furniture, I only have a sofa and bed that my son place in his home for me. Now I spend my time , going to see my mom in the nursing home every day and to church every Sunday over and over again 🤦🏽‍♀️stuck in another kind of rat race. After listening to you again, I must come up with a new plan💡Thanks👍🏽❤️

    I got out of the rat race. I travel the country as a travel nurse. I can take off as much time as I want. I went to so many wonderful places. I hadn't changed my mind set. After three years and the covid pandemic really brought to the surface my codependent mind set. So I am working on my health and mental health. I am taking off trying to figure stuff out. Also my husband addictions came to light and I need to change myself to help support him. He is doing great in a 12 step program. Dave Ramsey helped me get out of debt.

    I quit my job after feeling 99% of what he mentioned. What threw me over the edge is when my dad died nearly none of the Managers told me they were sorry for my loss. After my Dad died they scheduled me one day a week. I worked there 8 years. Daily they would walk past me, especially two young smug upper Managers and not even talk to me. I am a kind, thoughtful hardworking person. Other companies did appreciate me. The company I left is a well known company everyone knows about. Many awful things happened there even death. When I think back to that place I literally get chills. I left with PTSD. I have never and never will set foot back in that place again. No job is worth the price of your mind and soul. If it is tearing you apart on the inside please leave.

    To me the danger of the rat race lies in the constant siren call for "More." There is a constant pressure put on a person to continuously up-size and this is what creates the trap. When the person makes $20,000 he is enticed to stretch for the things that really fit the $30,000 bracket. When he gets to the $30,000 bracket, he's enticed to reach for those things that belong to the $40,000 bracket. Eventually some reach levels much higher than $40,000, $50,000, $60,000-only to one day find that they have very little choice but to slave away "just to keep even" at income levels that would have ensured security for the earlier versions of themselves (you know...the $25,000 version of themselves). Once this happens very few can find the courage to say"I will stop this madness no matter what I have to liquidate to regain my economic freedom."

  • @PhilCherry3

    @PhilCherry3

    2 жыл бұрын

    @meladee kenzee I was not implying that one could practically live on $25,000 and support a family household. I was simply using the $25,000 figure to represent a point of satisfaction one may have started at only to slowly be "upsized" in spending habits by society's advertising rather than by necessity. I do not advise anyone to forego opportunities to increase income and better one's financial situation. I know I did exactly that when given the opportunities. What I disagree with is society always putting pressure on people to outstrip/outspend their resources-only to be dropped into an economic hole at some later point. I've seen people make more than $100,000 annually but still end up constantly broke because they accepted the siren call for the bigger this, the bigger that. Then when they could no longer make the $100,000 plus; they were tossed away like weekly trash, with nothing to show for all the work they had done.

    Great video! I just came across your channel and thus far I’m vibing with everything you’re about & adore the message. This could be interpreted as petty and that’s not at all my intent, so please don’t interpret as such. The 1st step in addiction or 12 Step type programs is coming to the realization we’re powerless over drugs/alcohol and that our lives have become unmanageable. With that said, the second step aligns perfectly with what you called step one, believe that you can leave. (in 12 Step it’s believe a greater power can return us to sanity). Much Love!

    I am a woman. GOt in a debt trap, but I'm on my way out of it. In less than one year I'd be out of it! It is MAIN factor for keeping me down. I believe debt is the cause of poverty. Second MAJOR factor - children. Thank God, I din't get into that trap. I have no children and that alone makes my life standards so much higher. I'm off of food stamps already. If I get at least one child, I immediately go down to the level which would qualify me for food stamps. Having children would mean going bakcwards economically. I will consider having children IF and ONLY IF I have excessive amounts of extra BOTH time AND money. I agree with everything Tim says here.

    I cut out Netflix, Amazon prime and other stuff. I recently got into minimalism and just being grateful for what I have. Sold a lot of stuff I owned and I'm paying off debt. I should be debt free next year after I get my taxes. You can do it, the right mindset is all you need, minimalism is life changing.

    I hope there are options for the married.. Coz relationships doubles the load and stress mentally and physically due to the household demands.. after all we cannot serve 2 masters. AND for the superhumans out there doing both.. all the best.

    Timothy, thanks for your inspiration video. This gave me the courage to put in my two weeks notice today and walking away from a good paying job. I’ll be okay and will be a lot happier. Thanks for your humble wisdom. I felt like you were my best friend telling me what I wanted to hear. Keep up the good work.

    I dunno man, pretty sure rat race is anywork. being out means,to me at least, no need to do anything, and your assets cover your cost if living. any 'work' you do is completely voluntary, and not needed to survive. Thats always been my definition. basically enough passive income to cover living expenses. minimizing your expenses and needs just makes achieving that easier, thats all. maybe we just had different perspectives on what the rat race really is.

    quietlike Good stuff my bro. I agree with both of you guys. The problem is parents and school systems don't teach that there are multiple ways for people to earn money. And passive income is probably the best one.
