Here are the silver bullets that helped me overcome porn: 1. When you are tempted, take a third person perspective. Look at the urge and your feelings surrounding it for what they are, as if viewing them from the outside. Find out what your real need is and address that instead in a healthy way. 2. Regularly watch anti-porn videos to keep yourself reminded of why you want to quit. 3. Set boundaries for yourself and be consistent with them. Limit your time spent using media and electronics. 4. Develop a devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

@@taunoctua245 Annulments in essence declare that a marriage never took place. The problem is that many annulments are in fact false and the couple are in fact spouses. Divorce is different, which is separating a union which God has joined, and is therefore an abomination.

Those eyes are soo kind

I’m a young teen struggling and I get myself to confession and try so hard. I am getting in the habit of Praying and spending time with him more because I can’t do it alone. I am appreciated they’re so many topics and I am happy to be catholic because I know I have someone to help me alone my way.

It is only a limiting belief to think you can not quit porn. Pray for the Holy Spirit and you will slowly but surely quit. Bless and thank you Father.

Glen Grixti you don't pray for the Holy Spirit, you either have received it or you don't have it! The only way to receive the Holy Spirit is through the gospel, it's by trusting, hearing and believing the gospel! Ephesians 1:“13. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,” Here's the gospel, which unfortunately Catholicism doesn't teach! It's just further proof of how Catholicism is just a man made organization and it's not the true church as they claim. This is how you receive salvation! 1 Corinthian's 15:“1. Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2. By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4. And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” Salvation has nothing to do with you or what you do, it's about what Christ did for us! Those who teach a faith plus works gospel like Catholicism does are cursed according to the scriptures. The gospel is the true power! Romans 1:“16. 👉For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation👈 to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

William Douglas first off the book of James is written for the Jews not the church and it literally tells you that. But that verse isn’t a salvation verse to begin with but yes if you’re not spreading the gospel or don’t have faith I would imagine you’re faith is dead because otherwise you would be spreading the gospel. We do good works because we ARE saved not to get saved or stay saved. It’s not of yourself, it’s not by works it’s a free gift you receive by faith in believing Christ died for your salvation by shedding his blood. There’s no forgiveness without the shedding of blood for a reason. How many priest or popes have shed their blood for you? There’s ten times more scriptures that proves you’re wrong. You can just use whatever verse you want to teach doctrine because if it doesn’t line up with everything then it’s you who are wrong not the Bible and you need keep studying until you realize where you went wrong.

I have a problem with porn I've been trying to quit. When I'm about to go on it I stop and pray or listen to Christian music.

I usually watch it because I’m home alone and I really always regret it after I’m done. I sometimes question my faith, but I want to believe in God and I do but I sometimes question it. And I also struggle with this and other stuff. I just want to get rid of it as soon as possible

Every human feeling is natural (outside of mental sicknesses), does that mean we should give into any and all feelings that come our way? Also, monkeys have been known to be extremely violent. Thank you for making this video Father. I grew up watching porn and it was also the only place where I learnt about sex so for a long time my view on how to be a woman or what it means to be loved (by a man) was extremely distorted. It drove me to the darkest times of my life. Since I've quit porn I've also come to become aware of how connected my body and my soul is. and how clearly the world sexualizes everything which denigrates the sacredness of gift of sex which is the true gift of oneself. God saw my downtrodden soul and body and slowly lifted me out of the darkness as I came across JPII's Theology of Body which has saved my life.

Man he is so wise.

I graduated college in 1999 so things might have changed. But I remember there was such a pressure to party, drink and have sex. If people found out you were Christian you were immediately mocked and ostracized. They could not understand what was wrong with having multiple sex partners, as long as you "practiced safe sex". There was a sex shop in town and so many college students went to it. If you said you didn't like it they would look at you strange. Sex was everywhere and then the social pressure put on you made it really easy to fall for porn or just sex.

Please pray for me. I'm a convert and while I thought I was doing well, I have recently been under the attack of lust, and I have indeed failed. While I went to confession as soon as I could, I'm still deeply tempted again.

Wonderful video! As Fr. Mike mentioned, getting out of our bubble and shell allows us to decrease our self absorbed thoughts and helps us to love others. A wonderful remedy against depression too. With a pure heart and the help of God's grace, we will think less of ourselves when we become preoccupied with other things.

Pornography is a horrible thing to watch. My husband suggested we watch it once and both of us were disgusted by it. I don't understand porn addiction, but I will pray for those who are afflicted with it.

I am STRUGGLING with this exact problem, especially since I've started living in an accommodation. I can lock my door and close my curtains and be isolated from everybody in my own shell for a few minutes (or even hours) and its exactly this, its the free time and the easy (false) connection. Unfortunately, I do not yet have a close relationship, I moved here a few months a go and I have made a few friends but none that I would trust to share this problem with. I do not trust my family with this either as I know that they wouldn't understand how this could even be a problem, they would give advice along the lines as "just stop watching it" but as we all know its just not that simple due to the withdrawals, flat lines and other side effects of addiction. This video is very formative and I seriously appreciate your understanding behind the problem. It has woke me up to the reality that I am lonely and in need of a connection and you have really hit the nail on the head, so to speak, by directing this towards college students. You have shown me that I need to start scheduling social events, or as you said "a block of time to get out of myself and live for others", although I currently avoid social situations due to my problem (I feel guilty and inadequately controlled by it) I will take your advice and apply it and I will check back here in a month with my progress. Thank you.

Prayers for you father and your ministry of Gods love. Thank you for the sacrifices you have chosen. We, being everybody fallen could overcome our urges and lower limbic brains that are often deceived and use those signals as a time to pray for priest in the world 🌎. Somewhere whenever one has a negative urge, there is a priest performing his ministry. Pray at that signal for his holiness or specifically His Holiness (he says he needs our prayers,I agree he does.) pray that these ministries remain faithful to the truthfulness of their existence.

I'm going to be totally honest, my video buffered at the very beginning, and I thought you said "I had a talk with a good friend, Meth" and immediately I was just spinning at the thought of your skill and inspiration in having and overcoming such an addition. My friend was a drunk, he did the T.V news for years with the C.B.C.and did the sports drunk, a Jesuit priest wrote him a letter about it and he never drank on air again, it was a good gesture from a guy who acted on his faith and though critical, I think it may have affected his life positively. Its that kind of communicating that takes humility to accept and reason to question yourself.

This has been the hardest to break but I wait till the day that my endless trying will be worth.

As a struggling 🌽 addict i have made leaps and bounds after starting your bible in a year l Podcast. Insane that Facebook has shoved 🌽 ads and videos in my face. Some incredibly graphic. Try wearing a rosary ring when you are going to bed. In the bathroom, sing or listen to religious music. When images appear in your mind, pray for their protection and blessing.

@@png9779 unfortunately, I've burned and crashed at the time, when I was trying to quit it, I didn't have the best mindset. Ever since that, it's gotten worse and I haven't been able to escape it, what's worse was years of turmoil with my faith where I left the Catholic faith for a while and only recently in May, I've just returned.

The way I used to get rid of temptation to view inappropriate materials is to buy an online security product. I activated internet filtering (parental control) and set a password by generating a series of random number. It depends on the software, but the system I used (TrendMacro) has two different passwords, one for account and one for web filtering. That way I don't need to worry about locking myself out from Trend Maro's general account.
