Because he's not using a grease gun or socket set to loosen/tighten the tracks. Yeah the excavator and chain are technically tools but not the standard ones. Maybe "alternate method" may have been a better title but this way is a lot faster and good info.

Great vid, thanks. My 3 ton excavator can sometimes be fixed solo using a rope to operate the controls forward or back while levering the track with a bar. But not always...

Funny you say that about the door. I had a really bad experience with that myself. Really embarrassing!

Good Job. Try doing it on the side of a 2:1 slope by your self. Down hill track, couldn't move the clt, as soon as the chain got tight the loader slides down hill. Had to turn the clt 180 degrees with the mini, then i was able to pull it right back on. Fun time had by none.

Thanks for the video man! I've always been afraid of locking myself out of my loader that way. What did you do to get out of that pickle?

Hello, I am thinking about trading in my old track loader TR 270 on something new like a t870, 299 or 333 What did not like about the t870 in your earlier videos? I have never run bobcat they seem like decent machines.

Dirt Ninja. I demoed a new 289d a while back, it was a nice tractor, super smooth and awsome to drive, I loved it. The only issues I thought it had and honestly kept me from purchasing at the time was with counter weights and an empty bucket it was very ass heavy and seemed to not climb up a hill like others I have operated before. It may mostly be that I was not used to the machine but I felt that if I pushed it any more it would stand on it's back pretty eady...do you ever have this issue? Thanks

How long does a pair of tracks last on the 289D? I'm looking to purchase a brand new machine but only ran tires no tracks.
