This is so helpful, thank you! I'm having an issue when I go to add a manual add to my Wordpress site. Following what you've shown (create ad, copy code, paste using "custom HTML"), I get an error stating "Updating failed. The response is not a valid JSON response." Is this an issue with my theme, coding, or what could be the issue? Any help would be so appreciated!! (for background, my theme is Flatsome and I've been showing Adsense auto ads on my site successfully for a coupe of months).

Thank you for the helpful information but because I have a very unique website with over 50 pages and a niche market, I’ll probably have to review your content over and over so I can get it to work correctly or hire someone to help me. I think I can place the ads on the websites sidebars so they a viewable on all pages.

Thanks for the information, very productive. I have a question; you are placing the html code for a specific ad into you website, if that advertiser stops advertising, what happens? Do you have to go in and replace the code for a different ad, or does it automatically change itself to another ad? Thanks in advance.

Hey Dave, nope! When you put Adsense on, they pick the ads for you. if you manually did it with a specific company, yes, but I don't do that. So with Adsense, when you put it once, it's set and forget.

Did you figure this out? I am assuming it is a widget but I keep downloading 'theme edit' widgets and it does not pop up under the appearance tab or allow me to edit the header.

I'm not sure as I haven't used Site kit. From what I gather, it helps you monitor earnings. Not sure if it helps you install/manage ad placements

@@TammiSparks I was told you only need site kit now by a WP youtuber expert who's pretty established. Seemed to work though I didn't have time to really double check as workin on many things. Let me know how you get on.
