How to Prune Indeterminate and Determinate Tomatoes for Healthy Yields || Black Gumbo
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video I’ll show you the difference between determinate and indeterminate tomato plants and how to prune them for maximum growth, health and high yields. If you don’t prune, your tomatoes will grow, but will sprawl, become difficult to manage, and will invite diseases and pests. Pruning promotes earlier and healthier harvests and tidy plants that are easier to care for. I’ll speak about plant anatomy, specifically stems, suckers and leafing branches and will show you how easy it is to care for a young plant so that it will become a prosperous and enjoyable project.

So indeterminate is basically like a perineal, that needs pruning, and determinant is an annual that needs minimal pruning at the start of growth. 👍Thanks!

Love it. It's been awhile sense I've grown a tomato plant, But did this year & just wanted to make sure I was doing it right. Thank you! We also did green beans, Carrots, Mint, two different aloe's, cactus & Cucumbers... My tomato plant was the last to harvest & it is almost as tall as me😳 I hope to have a bigger garden next year🙏
Very helpful. Thanks for taking the time to explain!
Short, sweet, complete. That's why I'm the fourth new subscriber in a row. That, and I really have a tough time growing tomatoes in southern California.

Watching this April of 2020, when you mentioned having 5000 then and as of me typing you have 31000, really shows people like your content. No, he doesn't answer this question that everyone has: how to tell a tomato is determinate or indeterminate.
On a determinate plant, it is nice to pluck the suckers up to at least one foot, sometimes even higher if the bush size is large. If you leave all the sucker in low, then you get a mess of a plant and it can get so thick that much of the plant doesn't get proper sunlight.
