Hey Richard. Thanks for sharing as usual. I'm from the Caribbean, Trinidad🇹🇹. My dragonfruit started budding way early this year from late January and wasn't expecting such early budding. As such, I didn't get to prune before budding. Is it ohk to prune the tree while it is budding/flowering/fruiting?

Sent you email. Just tipped some of my new branched and they have already started new branches in just a few day. Thanks for sharing and may you and your family be blessed.
For the citrus tree, you can cut the whole tree down to a large stump and graft another variety with scions directly attached to the wood/cambium. There are multiple videos on this topic.
Great video
Thanks, nice explanation

Richard, for your orange, you can try putting 2 cups of brown sugar close to the roots. I have 2 sour orange trees like you have. I dig a hole very close to the tree enough to contain 2 cups of brown sugar. I then soak the brown sugar with water. I let the water drain and soak the sugar again. You can do this 2-3 times or until you don’t see the sugar. I have done this 2 years in a row, and I have been getting sweeter oranges. Give it a try and good luck! Thanks for your video, I have learned very important method to produce more fruits for my dragon fruits.

If you don't like the citrus, you could graft something you like better on it. If it's just too sour to eat and you're looking for ideas of how to use it, just use it like you would a lemon. Drizzle it over fish, use it in a vinegaret, make marmalade, lemon(sumo)bars, meringue pie.

Thank you for sharing! Do they need to be repotted at some point?
Thank you! Now I understand dragon fruits a bit better. About your citrus. It looks like your rootstock has taken over. Rootstocks are usually sour orange, which is why your fruits are so sour. Go ahead and cut off all the branches stemming from the trunk below the point where the graft is. The trunk should be visible.
Hi Richard. Your yard is looking awesome! Can’t wait to see how it will look this year with all the flowers and fruits. I’m just a little north of you in Sacramento. Last fall I picked up 4 new varieties. Got them fully rooted, have 4 to a 30 gallon pot and top dresses with chicken manure about weeks ago. I haven’t had any new growth on them yet. Any tips on getting them out of a stagnant stage and to start growing? I haven’t experienced this with my other dragon fruit plants and not sure what I can do other then giving them more time. Any suggestions? Thank you for advice! Dan

The sumo citrus are great for making Mojo pork. Cuban style roasted pork
I have couple dragon fruits, pretty overgrown. Thanks for the tips to cut them . Do I just the cuttings in a big pot or in the ground?
Hello Thanks for the videos ..please help us cuttings long time and not rooting .thank you
Hi Richard, Thank you for sharing. I do have a question on the optimal length to keep the 2nd branch (this is the one that branches off the main branch when the main branch is over the trellis. These 2nd main branches would hang over the trellis and keep growing. How far down is the optimal length to maintain?
awesome content! what fertilizer do you like to use?
Brilliant stuff. Is love to get cutting on my next trip to USA. Where are you located please. I’m in USA next year summer. I’m uk based
Could you please tell me what potting mix you use..I thought dragon fruit had to be planted in the ground, but yours look amazing. I would like to put mine in a pot...thank you God bless
I appreciate your informative vids! I have a question , once you plant a cutting how many seasons will it take to see dragonfruit give its fruits? One more question, if fertilizers weren’t use like you recommended, or at all, will the dragonfruit still produce flower /fruits? TY!
Hi Richard. Is it too late in the season to replant to a larger pot? Also what should I use to get rid of the rust spots on my plants? Thank you
I noticed on your main branches you have cut areas. I do too. Is that something to be concerned with. Talking about on the 4x4 towards bottom by the soil
That is Seville sour oranges, used mainly for marmalade.
i Have planted in the wide Pot but its stopped growing and the small small buds comes and it will fall of, please let me what should i do to grow my plant plsssssssss
Richard, were do you buy your dragonfruit plants/cuttings? What varieities would you recommend? Thanks
You could make jam/marmalade with your citrus fruits, there are some awesome recipes on utube
Try preparing lemonade with the sour tangerines. I believe that they are calamondine tangerines a type of lemon. Could be that its a tangerine that was not grafted.

Hi Richard. Just a quick question. If you have buds on a branch and new growth on the same branch, should you remove the new growth or keep it?
do you have a watering or fertilizer schedule you follow?

Also, have you documented the life cycle of planting DF? Like April Season Starts, Sept/Oct Winterize DF, etc...
You can make jam with Ur citrus skin.
I have two beautiful dragon fruits, here in East TN. I can't leave them out over the winter of course, so my son built wooden cages on wheels that are amazing, I just roll them in for the cold months. They do produce 2-3 dragon fruit for us every year. It's a huge deal when they do...we love it. I'd like to expand my collection, which varieties would you suggest and do you sell those ?

Hi! I have potting mix which consists of red soil, vermi compost, cow manure, coco-peat, and neem powder. My query was can i use this potting mix for growing dragon fruit plant in containers in a ratio like 50% potting mix and 50% coarse sand by the way I'm from India.
Thank you. I have to prune my trees. Not sure what to do with the clippings. No one I know is interested in growing dragon fruit.
