Although bikes are to be ridden and enjoyed, not wrapped in cotton wool and left in the box, you can still take some reasonable measures to prevent unnecessary cosmetic damage throughout your frame's life span. Frame protection kits such as this one from Muc-Off help to do just that, sticking to your frame as a second skin.

I have used both, the ones you apply with water as shown and ones that are applied with a heat gun (Dyedbro) and found the second option easier to work with.

I always use Invis on mine and my little boys bikes. Easy to apply. Super tough protection. Keeps the bikes like new, but you need patience when applying it wet.

The degreaser from Muc-Off is realy agressive.I used it on my old bike and it actually removed some paint. I personaly only use soap or brake cleaner on my bike.

I used a 3M film that used a bit of alcohol and it worked quite good. Thank you for this (advertisement) tutorial and reminder that I want to do just a little more than the seller did on my beautiful Canyon. P.S. I bought the film as sheets and cut it up myself which I found more effective than precut pieces.

Hi... The paint scheme on my bike (trek roscoe 9) has raised spots all over it part of what attracted me to the bike. But do I now have an issue with frame protection..Will I be able to apply the protection to an un smooth frame? ... I'm guessing i wouldn't be able to avoid air bubbles.. Thanks in advance 😁

I feel silly with this comment, but is that protection sticker matte, or is it finished in the style of a known person named "Matt"? I wouldn't be surprised at either option given some naming conventions but I'm guessing it's just a typo.

I would like to find some opaque ones. My bike is mostly black with pink and I'd like to cover the pink without repainting the bike. So far, I've used black electrical tape. Maybe dark window tint? I wish I could find black.

I’ve used a combination of ceramic coating and xpel protection.

Make sure you take care of that ceramic coating. It will haze up on you if you don't care for it like the manufacturer says. Then it's a pain in the arse if you want to remove it. It can stick so good to the paint it will ruin the paint trying to get it off. Especially if you try to buff it out.

I install ceramic coatings as a small business for years. I don’t have one on my mountain bike, would be useless. Better off using a spray sealant after every wash.

Helicopter tape. It doesn't look near as nice, but it does protect.

Those separate pieces don't make a lot of sense. Would been better to have a longer piece that can be cut.
