Just wondering from looking at your hose did you run 2 inch into the house and then 1.5 inch inside - the black hose looks smaller?. Thanks for the education on the hose run - Cheers :)

Oh god. An XDrive…. Fyi folks thinking about getting into this industry. Stay away from Xdrives like they are the plague. These things have so many problems it’s not even funny. Great when they work. But they have so many problems it’s not even worth it. I’ve worked on plenty of Xdrives requiring generator swaps, motor swaps, capacitor pack swaps, controller swaps, etc. with only a few hundred hours on them. When I saw one with over 1000 hours, that was a unicorn.

My mistake. I’ve worked on too many Xdrives lately. Rarely ever get 4.8’s in for repair. Your setup just looks almost identical to this frequent XDrive customer. I didn’t know gorilla boxes were made for chevys too. I assumed it was a transit and dismissed the thought of a cds since it’s impossible with transits.

I like them a lot. Very simple to use but keeping up the maintenance is important to reduce breakdowns. It’s probable the toughest on a transmission. If the runs the unit will run!

I’m a truck mount mechanic for one of the largest retailers in the nation in this industry and from my personal experience. These things are great when they work. Key word is, when they work. I’ve repaired so many Xdrives in my facility for manufacture defects. 80% of all repairs is paid by HydraMaster minus regular maintenance stuff. Generator swaps, motor swaps, controller swaps, capacitor pack swaps, you name it, I’ve replaced it. It’s nice that HydraMaster pays for the defective repairs but the truck will sit in our facility for weeks. HydraMaster helps us diag one problem and fix it, just to have another problem show up. And all these are usually within a few hundred operating hours. I prefer the CDS or slide ins. Also I don’t know what the owner means hard on transmission. You keep the truck in park when the unit is running so the transmission isn’t even turning.
