    Tail combs are better for parting curly or kinky hair, a cutting comb would get stuck if I tried doing that to my hair, at least by the way you did it. Cutting combs can part my hair but it’s one or two inches at a time and I separate with my fingers as I go down.

    Maybe ensuring the hair is detangled first may help. Maybe already having whatever product(s) you may utilize to make the hair more workable/manageable in the hair prior to attempting to part the hair... may also help. Or just keep doing what you're doing, I'm just making suggestions. And I'm not implying you don't already do these things, I'm just sharing how I ensure the comb goes through smoothly for me. I think I have "black" hair... wouldn't necessarily describe it as kinky or curly, but the more social media comments I read, the more I question how "black" my hair truly is.

  • @dizzy_dd

    @dizzy_dd

    @Simone LaFleur It's a good suggestion, but even after detangling curly or kinky hair, it gets knotted quickly and you would have to keep doing over the process of detangling

    If you take video requests, I’d love to see a video on how to properly section long hair for things like curling. Or a tutorial on how to do different cute styles when you’re by yourself. Almost all the hair tutorials I see are if your doing them on wigs or other people (like if you’re braiding your friends hair), but it’s just me and the mirror.

  • @alyssabandaid1548

    @@alyssabandaid1548 let’s remember what may be a no-brainer for you and your specific hair type and level of experience/how long you’ve been practicing it on yourself doesn’t apply to every other human being on this planet. I learned at 12 how to section my own hair properly for most styles, but not all. If you don’t need the hair tutorial this person asked for, don’t watch it. Maybe you’re not meaning to come off snarky and patronizing but your tone is reading that way. You could have just given this person the information in the last few lines and left it at that but you still don’t know their level of comfortability with styling their own hair, what style they’re struggling with practicing on themself, or their hair type which would make the process vastly different and more detailed. They were kind, polite, and giving valued feedback fo the creator so they know what their audience may be looking for so what is the problem

    It you brushable hair then you can also brush your hair font the front straight back where you want your part and because of the bristles it makes a lot of different lines that you can literally just separate at. I’ve done that sense I could remember, so middle school. And I would just brush back where my side part goes (usually when wet) and just separate it super easy. Great for just everyday wear.

    As a hairdressing apprentice I absolutely struggle with sectioning Not with combs though that's fine. But when doing blowdry in the salon I'm in it's weird to use them but I don't have long nails so I can't get a clean section with my finger like everyone else. Holding a brush a dryer and a comb with nowhere to put them down would be messy. Trying to find an easier way to section the back during blowdries

    I’ve had too many experiences where it feels like the hairdressers are slicing my scalp with a tail comb 😂 especially after bleach on the scalp ouch 😱

    I choose the rat tail comb because you can comb your hair and you can use it as a protection if you need to 😂😂😂 fun fact
