We get a ton of calls (and even some returns) involving the improper installation of a torque converter. All too often, folks get the torque converter “almost” in without it being fully seated onto the pump, and then bolt the transmission up to the block-relying on the tightening of the bellhousing bolts to force the torque converter fully into the pump. That’s a big no-no, and it can cause a ton of damage to the transmission.
