There are schools actually with Spanish lessons. I went to a private school in high school and we had Spanish electives, but I didn't choose to enroll bc my grandmother used to teach me. Though, there are public high schools with these classes too!

Dear Dr.Evans, I am learning Spanish.I have done an A1 course which I passed because of memorizing (I guess) but the concept was not clear to me at all till I accidentally stumbled upon your AIB Spanish lessons here. Earlier I had given up thinking that it's too difficult to learn but your teaching method is so good that now I feel I will be able to learn it. Thanks for the videos. What would be great is a video going over all possible conjugations of a verb and then prioritising the most used in detail (e.g. those used 95% of the time). Also a video showing patterns within the irregular verbs. Might be a few videos!

Dr. Evans, I thank you from the bottom of my heart! I am a native speaker teaching HS Spanish for the first time! I have always tested out of Spanish classes and never learned it in a classroom setting. So, teaching it has been challenging. I have had to learn right along with the students and you have made that so much easier to do. I found your videos some time in October, I wish I had found you in August so that I could have watched your videos from the beginning and had an idea what I was teaching (LOL!). I am moving on to Spanish 2 starting in January and I will be watching your videos and sharing them with my students as added support. Your teaching method is simple and easy to understand...thank you! Do you teach out of a curriculum, or follow a curriculum in your classroom? Our school district uses Auténtico and it seems like your videos follow right along where we are. Again, THANK YOU for these videos!

Thank you for tutoring us because I forgot some of the spanish lessons I studied during my college days. And now I will remember and I can speak and understand Spanish again.

I'm a Filipina and I honestly can tell I easily learn Spanish even just by hearing it few times. Our Filipino words were mostly Spanish words but different spelling. There's a huge advantage of us learning the language as we were colonized by Spaniards for 300 years and we adapted their culture so as the language.

There's a huge advantage in learning spanish with native finnish, as we also spell most of the letters same way, the r is also the same. This helps to understand the individual letters but words as well. Thank you for the very clear video!

Thank you so much for this video sir, I'm a native Arabic speaker and I have been learning Spanish as a third language and the first thing I did is learn words and how they are pronounced and I even learned how to form basic sentences but never thought about learning alphabets first 😂 I thought that the alphabets are almost like the English alphabets so I didn't bother to know their names 😅

Great video! I would argue that there is one dialect of Spanish that has a sound very similar to our English and that would be Costa Rican Spanish, which can has an [r] that some speakers pronounce as a retroflex approximant or a voiced alveolar approximant. There is a slight difference between the flap of English and the tap of Spanish, but it is doesn't really matter for our purposes.
