For #13, we pick the highest setting, #5 for the smoothest acceleration available. The acceleration will be more aggressive at the initial stage when the drive frequency is low; a higher drive frequency is smoother but this will create more heat to the ESC

#13 will also change the sound of the motor. Below 8K you can hear it more (with higher or lower pitch). An higher PWM can also be more efficient in driving the motor. Yes the ESC will run hotter as the MOSFET transistor inside are dissipating more heat every time they switch state (the higher the frequency the more they switch), but the motor response to the input signal will be more efficient. This is a killer feature of this ESC imho. Being able to go high is great.

@@chiccorocker what do you set this to... or what are ALL your 1080 settings? I hope to add a 1080 to my arsenal as one of my next orders... I was thinking, 8k , quiet, fairly smooth, one step from the highest to cut the heat level down a tad bit... Wondering how you set the throttle and brake settings. I'm planning to run this with a 16t 5slot motor...

I find it useful to enable Freewheeling first since Fw tends to make its presence felt elsewhere--particularly drag brake. With Fw enabled I drive some steep ramps while dialing in the rest. The BEC voltage will be what is feeding from the ESC into the Reciever, then from there into the rest of the system...so reciecer, servos, leds, anything connected to the reciever basically... I will be disabling the BEC that is internal to the speed control, and using a separate standalone 10A BEC from Castle(about 23$). I'll be running on 3s lipos, powering a reciever, a few servos and other bits, as well as some lights...

Nothing fancy. Just perfect end points and maximize the modulation and slow control.

This esc is perfect for that. Yes, only use 3s lipo for best performance. Will last forever too.

Exocaged has a great video showing the different settings and how it affects noise.... higher pwm settings are quieter, and can be smoother, but also create more heat.... I'm going to start with 4k or 8k when mine gets here...
