How To Program A 2017 - 2020 GMC Yukon Remote Key Fob - Add A Key Lost Keys Programming Sync Pair

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

A step by step video on how to program a smart key remote fob to a 2017 - 2020 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL
If you already have at least two working remote key fobs for your GMC Yukon there is a shorter programming procedure than the one shown in the video that you can use. You can find those programming instructions here www.programyourremote.com/cla...
*This will only apply to GMC Yukon's that have push button start ignitions.
1. Using the Yukon driver's door, turn the key counterclockwise to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The Driver Information Center(DIC) displays REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.
2. Wait for 10 minutes until the DIC displays PRESS ENGINE START BUTTON TO LEARN, then press the ENGINE START/STOP button. (You may have to open and close drivers door to see the DIC display). The DIC display will again show REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.
3. Repeat Step 2 two additional times. After the third time all previously known transmitters will no longer work with the vehicle. The DIC displays PRESS ENGINE START BUTTON TO LEARN, then press the ENGINE START/STOP button. (You may have to open and close drivers door to see the DIC display). Remaining remote key fobs can be relearned during the next steps. The DIC display should now show READY FOR REMOTE # 1.
4. Place the new smart key fob in the transmitter pocket in the GMC Yukon's center console .
5. Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. When the smart key remote fob is learned, the DIC display will show that it is ready to program the next remote key fob.
6. Remove the smart key fob from the transmitter pocket and press unlock or lock on the transmitter.
To program additional transmitters, repeat Steps 4-6. When all additional transmitters are programmed, press and hold the GMC Yukon's ENGINE START/STOP button for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
This how-to video tutorial can be used to program the smart key remote fob on the following GMC models:
2017 GMC Yukon ( SLE, SLT and Denali )
2018 GMC Yukon ( SLE, SLT and Denali )
2019 GMC Yukon ( SLE, SLT and Denali )
2020 GMC Yukon ( SLE, SLT and Denali )

This worked for me on an 18 Yukon that had only 1 fob. Programmed a second aftermarket fob. I had to go through the procedure twice. First time the second fob didn't work and the first fob worked but showed a service theft system message. The second time both worked as they should and no error messages. I will say make sure your car is unlocked before you start as you might set off your theft system if unlock with key after locking with fob!

I just watched this video and the step by programming worked the very first time I tired both of the key fobs/smart keys. I just have to now get the second key fob (the newer one) that is the key blade cut to match the original key bade in the original key fob. One only needs the blade key for emergency access on the driver door key hole to the vehicle in the event that the battery dies inside the key fob. At which point even without a working battery in the key fob if you insert the same key fob in to the small key fob holder inside of the center console storage area of the vechicle and push the engine start button, the vehicle will start. Thanks for the great content. All the best to you !

Just an FYI for others who may run into this problem- our display wasn’t “waking up” to prompt us after the first ten minutes. So we just did it exactly as instructed, pretending that we got the prompt to hit the start button. We did get the “ready for key fob #1” at the appropriate time though. No idea why our display wasn’t prompting us in the second step (the one that needed repeated every ten minutes) - but we got our fob programmed so we are happy! (2017 gmc Denali )

I have FOB #2 and #3(uncut). I wanted to reprogram them to 1 and 2 so the seat memory would work. I put #2 in the door and did the 5 counter clockwise turns. The driver display then said "Ready for remote 4" Nothing I did changed anything so I held the start/stop for 12 seconds until the screen went blank. *****UPDATE***** If I would have just scrolled down further I would have solved my own problem. I didn't have the fobs far enough away to put it into learning mode. Once I got that far - the rest was easy. Thanks for the video and the feedback to the other users.

When programming the remotes does this also erase the memory seats that are already set? We currently have only 1 working factory key (but we have Driver 1 and 2 programmed, I just use the button each time, which is a huge pain) and will be adding a second using the complete relearn procedure in your video. Will it keep the seat/mirror settings or will they need to be reset afterwards?

You are in the "add a key" procedure since your vehicle is detecting two already programmed fobs. Start with both of your fobs far enough away from the vehicle so they cannot be read by the vehicle ( not including the emergency key you need to use to get the vehicle into programming mode ). Once the vehicle enters programming mode you can bring the fobs back to the vehicle.

I was unable to get the new keyfob to be recognized as keyfob #2. When I repeat everthing from scratch using this youtube video, it tells me to insert keyfob #3.
