So many variables in this business. The main thing to know is....buy low and sell high! Also, the way you display your items, makes a huge difference. Not every buyer knows how to display items in their home, so it helps if you can show them how.....it's a fun business but the bottom line is...you're there to make money. Otherwise, what's the point! You do an awesome job of displaying your items! You make it look easy, even though I know it's not! Great job in every area!!! Merry Christmas from South Louisiana!!

Amanda you totally nailed it on how to buy low and price as if getting quadruple... one has to remember all the time to find the item, purchase, clean it, price it, list or display it, let alone the fees for online listing or booth fees, running sales, taxes etc. I always approached a purchase asking can I make 3 times what I am paying? I think I am going to start asking myself about the 4 times what I pay as you suggest. Please keep the content coming. You are so good at what you do!

From one junking/selling sister to another, pricing is so tedious!! So is listing stuff online. But the treasure hunting part? LOVE IT SO MUCH! Same thing with having a KZread channel. I love to share but the editing? Also tedious!

I started a booth 3 months ago and it's been a real learning experience. I realized pretty quick that I couldn't make profit on items I thought were a great deal as a buyer. They were already at the highest markup the area would tolerate. One of my first sales I ended up losing money on because the store commission exceeded the markup on the item. 😅

Yaaasssss!! So excited for this video. I’ve been wanting to see the specifics of how you do stuff like this ☺️ would love to hear any other general tips you have for owning a booth, like how to stage items, etc. loving vintage vlogmas so far! 🖤

Hi amanda. I noticed that when you were placing the tags in the back of certain things you were using hot glue? Is this something that you found that works best and doesn't damage anything that is porcelain made? Love to know keep the content coming. Love from Texas

I've noticed that you say the prices of everything except the things you buy, usually. I thought that was smart. I'm binging your old stuff because Im down with the flu.

I love Thrifting and shopping for Antiques, even cleaning & organizing my booth. But, pricing is the one thing I do Not enjoy. It’s difficult as Amanda said. Items are “All Over the Place”. I could sell two Vintage Brass Candle Sticks on eBay for $30. Dollars No Problem, because there are 100 x’s more viewers. So if I sell them in my local Booth. I will price them $12. - $15. Dollars depending on the time of year. Brass Always sells better in my Booth in Fall. So there is 1 example of how pricing works.

This was super useful. I just opened a booth and this made me realize I have my items too highly priced. I love the quadruple idea. I’ve had my booth open for a week and only sold 3 small priced items. Gonna lower some prices and see if it helps. THANKS SO MUCH

Really enjoying your vlogmas videos (especially since they're every day). About ten years ago I thrifted every wool sweater I could find because I thought I was eventually going to make things out of wool. Wouldn't it be cool if I dug that tote out and they were actually sweaters I would wear - but somehow I doubt it. haha

Thank you for the information today. I have a booth, mostly home decor and furniture. We do UPC coded labels and I miss out on putting a description of the item. Sometimes I think I could get more money if the customers knew more about the pieces. I’m in a boutique market, not an antique store set up. I have a mix of vintage, modern, repurposed, painted and just unique items. This is a great video, so enjoying your Vlogmas videos!

I know you posted this a month ago. But I just wanted to say thanks for this helpful video! I would love to open up a booth one day but I'm actually going to start selling online through social media so I can start some sort of a nest egg first. I do a lot of my searching online for things that I find in the thrift stores, but I'm also trying to dip my toe in auctions and it is brutal for the items that I would like to get my hands on. Long story short, I have no idea what I'm doing 🤣 but I just wanted to say thanks! Love your videos btw! I'd kill to have a booth that looks like yours one day

With such a giant mall, if one of your items is picked up and sat down in another booth--what's to stop that booth owner from putting their own number and price on it?

Your tags are CUTE. I want to put more creativity into my booth tags but they just get ripped off and taped into a book at the register. 🤷‍♀️ Not something that goes home with the customer.
