    I use two magnets at each location I secure it to the bed. One on the bed and one just above it on top of the wood. Having said that I really like this option and just placed an order. BTW she has a place on the order form for notes. I put in there that I heard about her pin here on your channel.

    I have designed some 3D printed hold down pins for myself in the past, but had not seen the stand-off style before. The results look great. Will definitely be handy for smaller CO2 machines without a downdraft table.

    Great video Rich, and what a brilliant idea. I think I'm going to try and design & 3D print my own set of pins. I have the exact problem you were mentioning about having small areas that don't quite burn through and I end up having to use my knife to cut them out. I can see how flashback would cause this issue. Bravo for posting this video... catch ya later!!!

    After watching this video, I decided to try this. I ordered the spacers and had them 3 days later. I immediately tried to burn a Christmas ornament and compared it to a previous ornament I cut earlier this week. There was a substantial difference between the two. Thank you again Rich for a job well done. You are the ACE for laser cutting and engraving information.

    Very nice idea, I did a search to see if I can find some stl files since I have a 3d printer, I saw several different styles that got me thinking. Time to fire up Fusion 360 and do some designing. I think I'll work on a magnetic version.

    I have a 3d printer but decided against printing these standoffs. I opted to laser cut them out of birch plywood. They're much stronger than the 3d printed design... I wish I could post a photo.

    I have several different styles. The 3D printed ones are my favorites. You can also achieve the same results with magnets. One on top and the other under the piece. Lots of ways to standoff your work.

    You would need a magnet on both sides of the material to stand it off from the bed.

    Standoffs are great for hard surface materials, and really does improve the finished product, but not so great for things like thinner leather or paper.

    Hello Sir, You appear to have Light Burn down to a science. That being said perhaps you can explain why I can never get anything the actual size I want. When I put width and height in at the top of the screen the image is never that size. Example: I want an image to engrave at 3 inches tall I get 2 3/4 inches tall . Framing before engraving doesn't match either, it's always much larger than the size I want the engraving to be. I have changed from mm to in and in to mm, makes no difference. I never get the final engraving at the dimensions I need.

They are what I would like to find. I guess I could design my own but I was hoping to be able to find all the different ones that are visible in the Art Library you have in the video.

    That's the choice, 3mm or 5mm. It depends on what size wood you're going to use. I like having both.
